I thank Dr. Devdeep 1 Ahuja for the comments. The role of IAP in relaxing accreditation norms shall be read in the context that IAP not being a statutory body for physiotherapy profession in India is compelled to be flexible in the accreditation process; otherwise the educational institutions would not follow even the minimal basic standards.

It is disagreed with the comments that Government of India has not taken a note of Physiotherapy profession. It should be noted that Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Human Resources and Development (HRD), Government of India has contemplated National Council for Human Resource in Health and National Council for Higher Education & 2 Research respectively which would incorporate regulations in Physiotherapy profession. Further Ministry of HRD, Government of India through University Grants Commission has sent circular (F. No.6th 1(6)/2006 (CPP-I) dated 14 May 2010) to various educational institutions that
