**ALL FEES ARE DUE BY MAY 24 IN ORDER TO WALK AT GRADUATION!!** 1. Participation in graduation is a PRIVILEGE and NOT a right. If you do not follow ALL guidelines, you will NOT be allowed to participate. This begins with Awards Day. If you are not in the dress code below, you will NOT participate. 2. Attendance at ALL events in the schedule is MANDATORY. No excuses will be accepted. TICKETS will NOT be issued if you do NOT attend ALL practices and events (except Baccalaureate.) 3. During practices, your complete attention is required. You are not to be disruptive or noisy. 4. ABSOLUTELY NO VISITORS are allowed at practices. No parents, siblings, children, other students, etc. 4. NO cell phones are to be carried or used during ANY events: practices, Awards Day, Baccalaureate, or graduation. 5. NO gum chewing. 6. Do NOT bring any purses/bags with you. There is not an appropriate place to store them. 7. Always stand tall and dignified when wearing cap and gown. 8. Remind your graduation guests that anyone who makes any disruption during the ceremony will be ESCORTED from the gym by a deputy and CHARGED with disorderly conduct. 9. Every single person, regardless of age, MUST have a ticket. 10. You must complete a form if you have a guest with special needs (wheelchair, needs assistance, etc.)
Boys
White, collared long sleeve dress shirt Black or navy pants—SOLID colored Black of navy tie—SOLID colored— NO patterns or designs at all! Black or navy shoes—SOLID colored & they must be tied (no boots, sneakers, or flip flops) Black or navy socks—solid colored NO necklaces or bracelets NO earrings
Girls
Black or navy –SOLID colored dresses or blouses and skirts (NO prints, patterns, or other decoration AT ALL. No exceptions.) NO cocktail dresses Dresses/skirts must be shorter than gown and no more than 3 inches above knee—they MUST meet school DRESS CODE. Hosiery is not required, but if worn, must be flesh colored (not black, white, etc.) Dress shoes—CLOSED toed WITH backs (no casual sandals or flip flops) –Maximum of 3 inch heels NO necklaces or bracelets ONE pair of stud earrings ONLY—NO bigger than a pencil eraser OVER
CAP AND GOWN INSTRUCTIONS 1. Press your gown with a cool iron. It should NOT be wrinkled!! 2. Try on your cap and gown ahead of time and have proper adjustments made AHEAD of time. 3. Do NOT wear your cap and gown TO practices and events. Bring it with you to wear over clothes that follow dress code and/or graduation dress code. 4. BHS stoles must fit evenly over shoulders, right against the throat and MUST be safety pinned to your gown on BOTH shoulders. 5. Caps should be worn FLAT and PARALLEL to the ground. 6. Tassels should be placed in the middle of the RIGHT FRONT of cap. 7. Caps and gowns must be worn with sashes, cords, and any other required accessories each and every time. 8. When seated in your cap and gown, knees should be together.
