We sent out weekly announcements and email messages regarding the Yogathon. Community members were inquisitive about the event and what it was about. A local vendor provided fresh fruits at the Yogathon event to emphasize the importance of eating healthy. Dr. Dilip Sarkar, one of the local instructors, attended the Friday, August 27, 2010, The National Press Club meeting, Washington D.C. to represent Patanjali Yogpeeth for a press conference on Yogathon. We continue to hold yoga classes for the community at the local temple and community center, where we share the practices and philosophy of Yoga Therapy to interested people, including many physicians and yoga instructors, free of charge, during weekly 2-hour classes. Additionally, we hold periodic intensive 7-hour camps for indepth understanding of „Ashtang-Yoga‟. A wonderful coordinated, focused way to reach out to the community members.
