New Hampton’s mission is to empower all students to succeed in a changing world. The Midmester Academy is one way we are putting our mission into action at New Hampton Middle School. The foundational components o f the Midmester Academy classes i nclude: ● a strong focus on teamwork; ● a real‐world application of what students are learning; ● problem‐solving skills to help answer the driving question for each class; ● innovative supports such as unique scheduling and team teaching. MIDMESTER ACADEMY Essentials The Midmester Academy is founded on the principles of Problem‐Based Learning (PBL). Course Summary: Nature Lovers and Junior Scientists alike will have an opportunity to study and explore environmental issues that matter to them. Course Summary: Learning how to work as an artist team, you will learn how to communicate with a client and gather ideas from the client. As a team you will brainstorm ways to create a unique sketch that meets the desired outcome for the client. Once agreed upon, you will collaborate by creating a street sculpture for your client. This group will be “hired” to create reality videoes to tell the story of where food products come from.
