Too early? Too late?

how it all went.

Some children are either arriving too early for school (!) or too late. Just a reminder to parents and carers that the school playground is open from 8.40 a.m. and the whistle goes at 8.55 a.m.. Breakfast club children must not arrive any earlier than 8.00 a.m.. Thank you for your cooperation.

Summer Uniform

Ofsted Inspection

It’s hard to believe that we have got to that time of year when children can wear summer uniform! For summer uniform children can wear the white polo shirt without a tie and girls can wear the optional blue check dress. If children wear the usual shirt and collar then a tie should be worn also.

Contacting Parents

You will be aware that the school had a full Ofsted inspection on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Thank you to all the parents and carers that returned the questionnaire. The Ofsted report will be published in about three weeks time and will be distributed to all parents. The report will also be available on our web site.

If you haven’t already done so please don’t forget to sign up for our new Parent Mail service for both e-mail and text message information. This is by far the most rapid way that we can contact you, particularly in the event that a club is cancelled. If you are not sure how to sign up please contact Mrs McIvor for further details.

Sporting Success Parent’s Forum The tag rugby team have started the defence of their County Champions title. In the town wide tournament earlier this week our team battled through against fierce opposition to come second overall and secure a place in the County finals. Unfortunately the finals were postponed due to a waterlogged pitch so we need to wait for drier weather before we can resume the competition. Well done to all the boys and girls in the team so far! Three athletics teams of 10 pupils each, from Yr 6, competed in an indoor athletics competition at Weavers st nd School on Thursday afternoon. The children came 1 , 2 th and 4 and have gone through to the town wide round of the competition. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to the next event.

Street Dance Club In a new venture for the school our Steet Dance Club are going to perform in a ‘dance off’ competition at the Raunds Community Music Festival on Saturday. The children are very excited and looking forward to performing on the big stage with professional lighting, a PA rig and an audience! We wish them all the best for the competition and look forward to hearing about

In March we had our initial meeting for the proposed Parent’s forum. Unfortunately the timing wasn’t right as only two parents were able to attend. In order to make any future meeting more accesible we would like to find out which times would suit parents the best. It would be most helpful if parents could fill out and return the reply slip attached indicating their preferred time for a brief meeting. We are really keen to get this off the ground so a response would be most welcome. This does not committ you to coming to a meeting but it will help with our planning for the future.

Web Site New on the web site is an article published in the Evening Telegraph about the opening of the new school extension. Guests of honour included The Mayor of Wellingborough (Bhupendra Patel), Mrs Diane Pinnock, Mr Tim Allebone (Chair of Governors) and Callum Czajkowski (representing pupils). Children watched the opening ceremony in the foyer on a live video feed in the hall and sang for the guest of honour. Don’ t forget there is a live calendar on our web site listing significant school events. http://www.freemans.northants.sch.uk/
