June 28/29, 2014 Jesus is better! Hebrews 10:1-18

FOLLOWING THE MESSAGE 1) 10:1 A shadow points to something unsubstantial in opposition to what is real.

11) 10:2 It is not that a Christian is no longer conscious of past and present sin. It is that an unbeliever is deluded about the presence of sin. GREEK WORDS Syneidēsis (soon-i'-day-sis— perception, moral consciousness :conscience.

2) 10:1 An atonement that needs constant repetition does not really atone. 3) 10:4 The nation’s sins were covered, but they were not cleansed. The people did not have God’s internal forgiveness. 4) 10:5 God instituted the sacrificial system, but people corrupted it and allowed it to become a form of works and not of devotion. 5) 10:7,9 It is God’s will that you be set apart (1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Peter 1:16). 6) Regardless of how practically holy your walk may or may not be, your standing makes you permanently holy to God, if you have trusted Jesus. 7) 10:11-13 All the sacrifices of the Old Testament had absolutely no effect on Satan nor the demons who serve him. But when Jesus conquered at the cross, He brought destruction to all His enemies. 8) 10:14 We need cleansing when we fall into sin, but we need never fear God’s judgment on us because of our sin. 9) 10:15-17 An action on God’s part leads to an action on man’s part which leads to an action on God’s part. 10) 10:18 Jesus established the new covenant by providing for the forgiveness of sins.
