SYMPHONIC I 5:30 pm Arrive in band hall in full concert attire. Assemble instruments; store cases in slots. 5:40 pm All seated on stage ready for warm-up. 5:45 pm Rehearsal begins on stage. 6:30 pm Concert begins; 6:50 pm Move from stage directly to seating area to listen to the remainder of the concert. Sit as a group. Following the final performance, everyone will help clear the stage. We will dismiss as a group from the band hall (similar to post-game marching band procedures, approximately 8:15). CONCERT BAND 5:40 pm Meet in orchestra room in all black. 5:50 pm Warm up begins in orchestra room. 6:15 pm Move to auditorium to be seated and listen to Sym 1 6:55 pm Approximate performance time. 7:05 pm Following performance, return to seating area for the remainder of the concert. Following the final performance, everyone will help clear the stage. We will dismiss as a group from the band hall (similar to post-game marching band procedures, approximately 8:15). SYMPHONIC III 5:40 pm Meet in choir room in all black to check attendance and receive announcements 5:50 pm Warm up begins in choir room. 6:15 pm Move to auditorium to be seated and listen to Sym 1 & Concert Band 7:15 pm Approximate performance time. 7:30 pm Following performance, return to seating area for the remainder of the concert. Following the final performance, everyone will help clear the stage. We will dismiss as a group from the band hall (similar to post-game marching band procedures, approximately 8:15). JAZZ BAND 5:30 pm Meet with your respective ensemble & follow its warm-up schedule 7:30 pm Set stage quickly and perform SYMPHONIC II 5:40 pm Meet in band hall in all black to check attendance and receive announcements 5:50 pm Warm up begins in band hall 6:15 pm Move to auditorium to be seated and listen to Sym 1, Concert Band and Sym III 7:45 pm Approximate performance time. Following performance, return to seating area for the remainder of the concert. Following the final performance, everyone will help clear the stage. We will dismiss as a group from the band hall (similar to post-game marching band procedures, approximately 8:15). PERFORMANCE GRADING POLICY Arrival in full concert attire in the designated place at or before the assigned time Arrival 1-10 minutes after assigned time OR failure to arrive in full concert attire Arrival after designated warm-up time Absent from performance

STUDENT ATTIRE: Symphonic II, III & Concert Bands Our new formal concert-wear will not be ready by the winter concert. We will wear all black for the December 7th Concert. Therefore, we must all plan to have the following attire before Thursday, December 7: Gentlemen: Black Slacks and long-sleeve button-down shirt with collar Ladies: School-appropriate length black dress or School-appropriate length black Skirt and black blouse with sleeves or Black slacks and black blouse with sleeves
Ladies: If you choose to wear a dress or skirt, please ensure that when you sit down, the skirt or dress must be no further than 1 inch from the knee.
Symphonic I • Boys are required to provide their own white WING COLLAR tuxedo shirt. Available online for $12.99 HERE • Boys additionally, will wear RISD-issued tuxedo jacket and pants, black dress shoes & RISD-issued black bow tie and cummerbund. • Boys are to wear knee-length BLACK socks… no short, crew-cut athletic socks are allowed. Please also arrive clean-shaven or have facial hair neatly groomed. Hair is to be groomed neatly and conservatively. Additionally, male jewelry that is permitted is only watches and finger rings... no other visible jewelry is permissible for boys. • Ladies will wear RISD-issued black concert dress. • Ladies additionally will wear black-out tights & black closed-toe dress shoes. No sandals or dress flip-flops. Shoes must wrap around the heel. • Ladies, please arrive with your hair back, or up – it should easily remain out of your face throughout the performance (especially percussion). Ladies' hair ties should be black. • Female PERCUSSION: Black long sleeved shirt and black dress slacks are required (not concert dress). Wear black tights or thin black dress socks under your concert pants.
