2017 Holiday Helpings Team Approach Volunteer Jobs POSITION
Bag Replenisher
EXAMPLE
DESCRIPTION Volunteers in this role ensure that each working station remains fully stocked with prepared grocery bags. A prepared bag consists of one paper bag enclosed within two plastic bags. In addition to assembling the bags, the replenishers should regularly check each station to ensure no station is running low on prepared bags.
Recycling
As cans are removed from their containers, the recycling volunteers should create “cardboard corners” to keep the working space clear. (Numerous containers will collect under each table.) All cardboard should be broken down and transferred to the appropriate bins outside. (Plastic should be separated from the cardboard.)
Restocker
Station Worker
At least one restocking volunteer should monitor each station to ensure that needed canned goods and other materials are always readily available.
Station workers do the actual filling of the grocery bags per the instructions of the volunteer lead.
Bag Transfer
Working stations may or may not be near the designated storage space for Holiday Helping bags. That being so, some volunteers will need to transfer the completed bags from each station to the storage area.
Wall Developer
Wall Developer volunteers fold over finished bags and create a multilayered wall of finished bags for storage until it is time for dissemination.
