How to Change the Background Theme on Word 1. First open a Word document.

Click the “Blank document.”

3. Look to the top right corner where it says your full name and click the little arrow next to your name.

4. A small drop down menu will come down. Click where it says “Account settings.”

Look where it says “Office Background” and “Office Theme.”

6. Now, click the arrow under “Office Background” and a drop down menu with different design to choose from will appear. Click on the one you want to use.

Next, do the same thing where it says “Office Theme” but now it will let you choose from three different colors and click which color you want to use.

8. Now, just look at the very top near your name and you will see the design you chose.
