Create a New Apple ID

You should set up your own Apple ID for use with the iPad. You may use an existing Apple ID if you already have one. You may prefer to have a separate Apple ID for school use so you keep your personal information separate. This Apple ID can be used for free apps.

1. From within iTunes, click on the App Store button. 2. Search for a free app, such as iTunesU, and click on the Free button. 3. Click on the Create New Apple ID button. 4. Click on the Continue button. 5. Read the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy and then check:

If you already have iTunes installed on your computer, please go directly to the instructions in the right column to create a new Apple ID. If you do not already have iTunes installed on your computer, please following these steps: 1. Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and search for iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes). 2. Use your student Jeffco Gmail address for email. Use your parent’s email for the Optional Rescue Email. 8. Verify that the payment method is None (you will only be required to enter a credit card when downloading apps that are not free).

9. You are required to enter your Billing Address to continue. 10. Click on the Create Apple ID button. 11. A verification email was sent to the email you provided. Check your email and follow the Verify Now link to finish creating your Apple ID. 12. Sign in with the Apple ID and Password you used to create the new account.
