**Please be aware you are dealing with hot substances (boiling water/wax) so care should be taken at all times. If children are involved, we strongly advise parental supervision at all times.
Lay down some newspaper to protect your workbench. Ensure the environment you are working in is at room temperature between 19-24 degrees Celsius
Attach the wick stickums to the base of your candle wicks, and fix them into the centre of your containers Thread the wick holders onto the wicks, this will keep the wicks upright when you pour the wax.
Crafty tip: Write the fragrance name of the candle on the wick holder or a piece of paper so you know which fragrance each candle is!
Pour the wax into an ovenproof glass measuring jug and weigh out the portion needed to fill your containers Remember it’s - Volume (ml) of container x number of containers x 0.85 = soy wax (g)
Put a saucepan of water on the stove, filled to about half way. Place your jug into the saucepan. The water should come up to about halfway up the jug or bowl. If possible, the handle should sit outside of the pan so as not to get too hot. Turn on the heat, and let the water get to a simmering point. Keep the water at a simmer, don’t boil.
Using the thermometer, gently stir the wax, taking the temperature, until it gets to 80’C. Turn off the heat, and take the jug of wax over to your work station. Slowly pour your wax into the 1L measuring jug provided.
Add your dye to the wax Start with a small amount of dye and check the colour by dipping a cold spoon into the wax and observing the colour when set If you are using a dye block, then use a cheese grater to add the colour gradually
Measure out the fragrance oil and combine with the melted wax Stir the fragrance thoroughly for 2 minutes
Remember the amount of fragrance oil needed is - Soy wax (g) x 0.10 = fragrance oil (ml)
Wait until the wax has cooled to 55 degrees and pour into the containers
Set aside for 24 hours to completely cool and set Place on a tray so you can easily move if needed For best results ensure candles are evenly spaced apart
