LED lighting is a technology that is instant on, this will allow the lights to be shut off between classes. This will also give educators the flexibility to use the space in a variety of ways. New lighting will reduce the electrical load by 54.76% The new fixtures are made in Dubuque, IA and come with a 10 year warranty LED high bay fixture will produce approximately 280-388 BTU vs the 400w Metal Halide that produces 1,760 BTU. This will reduce the cooling load in the summer when energy cost is the highest. Light level increase in this gym will be increased from ~33fc to 55-62fc, nearly doubling the light level in the gym.
