Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
GENERAL DUTIES This supervisory position provides support to the operational needs of the Human Resources Department and provides direct support for the work of the Chief Human Resources Officer. Supports the administrators in managing the Administration Center operations, and various other district-wide HR systems. Provides support for the staffing and allocation process for administrators and supervisor-technical staff. Works in close collaboration with multiple agencies. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A. A minimum of a high school diploma with additional college work or technical education pertinent to the position B. Demonstrated successful secretarial experience, preferably at an administrative or supervisory level C. Excellent written and oral communication skills D. Excellent computer skills, including word processing and other applications E. Knowledge of efficient office procedures and practices F. Ability to take the initiative, to work independently, and follow directions G. Flexible and adaptable to changing activities and work loads H. Knowledge of Human Resources laws, policies, and regulations I. Knowledge of licensing regulations with Teacher Standards and Practices Commission J. Knowledge of State and Federal laws regarding personnel such as FMLA, ADA, OFLA, and EEOC K. Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job L. Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons M. Ability to work harmoniously with others ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES A. Maintain District personnel files B. Manage the Administration Center facilities and operations C. Oversee and manage the operations of the Human Resources department D. Supervise and evaluate Administration Center classified staff E. Enter and update employee information in the Human Resources information system F. Prepare documents and correspondence for the HR Department G. Manage district-wide Human Resources systems and processes including unemployment and volunteers Human Resource Supervisor

Manage the Human Resources budget Participate in the Human Resources Management Team decision making process as appropriate Perform public relations and liaison functions for the department Collaborate and work with outside agencies including but not limited to: Teacher Standard and Practices Commission, Oregon Department of Education, colleges and universities, public safety agencies, and community organizations Process non-renewal and re-election notices Assist with the meet and confer process with administrators and supervisortechnical staff and process the Memorandums of Agreement Perform staffing functions which may include, allocations, staffing assignments, change in status, issuing contracts, licensing, salary placements, and processing retirements, resignations and leaves of absence Respond to inquiries and requests for information Work independently on projects and Human Resources related systems Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
