Good day! In line with our initiatives to enhance the teaching ard iearning of English in the Phi . ippines. the
British Council and the A. S. Ha - nby Trust wll deliver a five-day residential school on ELT in April, This Hornby Regional School will be hosted by the Ateneo Center for English Language Teaching CACELD at the Atereo De Manila University on 11-15 April 2016
Teaching English in a Multilingual Setting will be the theme of the School and will aim to train 30 trainers from the Philippines and other countries, who will then be expected to cascade the materials and - escurces to fellow teachers. The School is aimed at En.gisli rijaster. teachers teaching at Year Levels to 6 who have not had formal education or extensive training or Teaching English in a Multilingua setting. Partici:pants to the school will be selected according to the following criteria: a) experience in delivery of training to teachers, b) knowec.lge in !ALE and ELT. and c) previous trainings received in MLE. Applications should be received by 12.00 nn on Friday, 26 February 2016 along with an endorsement from their Schools Division Superintendent. Selected participants will be advised by 04 March 2016. The Hornby Regional School is subsidized. The British Council will cover the accommodation of the partio , pants tor six nights as we!' as mea's for the duration of the School. The teacher participants will cover the , r transportation to the accommodation facility, personal expenses and other costs beyond the arrangements made by the British Council. In relation to this, we would like to seek your support by forwarding this information to the Schoos Division Superintendents in your reg , on. We really want to have representation from all over the Philippines, particularly from areas in most need of support for ELT. We have attached the School Plan for your reference.
