September I 0. 2015 Dear School Board Members, We are writing to request and overnight field trip for the fifth grade classes at Indian llill Elementary June 7-8.2016. Camp Copneconic · s school program curriculum offers unique educational experiences for our students. They will provide outdoor and character based programs that supplement what schools are teaching in the classroom. Below is a summary of the outdoor education, team building, and character development programs provided by Camp Copneconic. Camp Copneconic provides a program where school groups can learn how to positively interact with each other. Their program focuses on overall group dynamics such as communication, conflict resolution, team effectiveness and leadership. Through the use of their low initiatives challenge course, high ropes course, three zip lines and 55-foot climbing tower, their trained facilitators will provide an outstanding team-based experience. The program is designed to strengthen the character of each student, improve interpersonal relationships, and establish a school culture based on care, compassion. and cooperation. Students embark on a journey of personal discovery that involves improving self-confidence, gaining an understanding of individual responsibility, and developing everyday heroic behaviors through courage and character education traits. Throughout the journey students learn on a group level hov.,. a school full of heroeswilting to cooperate and work together as a team- can bring unified strength and overall happiness to an entire student body. They will then carry these on into middle school. The cost of this wonderful outdoor educational experience is approximately $8.075. v..:c would like to have high school NHS students as our chaperones to help model what is expected as a Grand Blanc student. We have money put aside for an extensive tifth grade field trip (From PTO) and will give parents the option offundraising or paying for the remainder of the balance of $95 per student. If a family is unable to pay the balance due to Jinancial difficulty, we will ask PTO for a scholarship. Sincerely. Jami Neubecker Gina Pearce Cynthia Webber
