Ingleside mustang Baseball We have much to accomplish in the Ingleside Mustang Baseball Program. As coaches, a great amount of time will be spent in the area of evaluation. We will be evaluating players physically as well as mentally. The following items will give players/parents a little insight into the type of person we are looking for. 1. Winners- Those people who will consistently “pay the price” to make this team a winner. Young men who take it upon themselves to make things happen, unlike those who sit back and wait for someone else to win the game. YOU DON’T RISE TO THE OCCASION; YOU SINK TO THE LEVEL OF YOUR TRAINING! 2. Positive People- Positive attitudes don’t guarantee success, but negative attitudes will guarantee failure. 3. Attitude- Attitude is the most important controllable asset you possess. Attitudes are contagious, is yours worth catching? 4. Competitors- We will not let the scoreboard dictate how hard we compete. 5. Team- We > Me 6. Consistent Approach- Do ordinary things with extraordinary consistency, commitment and focus. 7. Mentally Tough- Players who don’t let their past failures negatively affect their future performance. 8. Student of the Game- Players who pay attention to detail. Fundamentals, mechanics, extra effort are little things that turn into big things. 9. Coachable- Players who are willing to make adjustments to get better and maintain adjustments. Players who realize their coaches are on their team and want what is best for them. 10. Self- Confidence- Comes from preparation, positive self-talk and routines. 11. Accountable- Players who take responsibility for their actions. Eliminate all transfer of blame. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
