2017 Better Together STEM High School Internship - Participation Agreement and Signature Rules: Interns are expected to act respectfully, professionally and follow the same behaviors and share the same vision and values as all other employees while working at PG&E. An intern may be dismissed at any time from the program for not following one of the outlined vision/values or behaviors. Mobile Devices Interns may bring mobile devices but they must remain turned off and be kept out of sight during work hours. Use of earbuds or headphones is not permitted. Privacy In the course of interns’ work assignments, information about customers might be exposed as part of the assignment. Interns promise that any such information is not to be recorded or distributed in any way. Attendance Interns are expected to attend every day, arrive on time and leave at the end of the day. Interns must plan for reliable transportation to classes. Full payment of wages is dependent upon full participation in the program, every day, all day. Transportation If an intern anticipates any problems with transportation, s/he is required to notify the site coordinator immediately for support. Meals Interns are responsible for packing their own lunch and drinks each day except for the first and last day of the internship. Emergency Medical Information Each intern will provide medical information and emergency contact information. Site coordinators will provide interns with wallet cards that contain this information and these must be carried at all times during the course of the internship program. Proper Attire Interns are expected to dress professionally each day, except during the week when you are placed in the field with our Operations crews. During field work, PG&E will provide any necessary safety equipment including but not limited to hard hats, ear plugs, safety vests, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing. Interns must wear 100% natural fibers (cotton is recommended) during field work. Sturdy work boots are also required (preferably ankle boots). Student agrees to obtain a valid work permit within 3 days of notification that they have been selected unless they will be 18 years of age on the first day of the internship program.
