Hi there!!! I hope you all have had a TERRIFIC break! As I look out my window right now the sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky...the snow from up here looks beautiful and white! Not quite how I felt on my drive to work this morning!! But this too shall pass and before we know it we will be fanning the heat of July!! Just a quick reminder to get me the information for the Bond/Levy activities as soon as you have it. Time is pretty tight with so much information to gather. I need to have all info gathered and to Karin by January 12th and I am at OSPI the latter part of next week so will be doing the gathering by email most likely. Mark's email is below for your review. I have bolded a few items for clarity. If you would like to request a particular board member to attend one of your events, let me know that name, otherwise, Joan P. will just assign based on availability....Thank you!!! and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Principals: We plan to hit the ground running in January to provide information to staff, parents, and patrons about the need for the 2009 bond and levy renewal. We'll be reviewing the information with you at our January 6 kick-off meeting at Ferris High School, starting at 4:00 p.m.. If you already have an event or parent meeting scheduled for that first week of January at which presenting information about the bond and levy would be important, I thought you might want an early heads up, prior to our January 6 meeting, about the presentation options that you can arrange for parent events: Presentation Options: Option 1 - 20 minutes (bond & levy video and presentation) - Levy and Bond Fact Sheets Distributed - Bond and Levy Video shown - Bond and Levy presentation made by Central Office Administrator and School Board Member if appropriate Option 2 - 10 minutes (bond & levy video and no presentation) - Levy and Bond Fact Sheets Distributed - Board member or central administrator make introductory remarks - Levy and Bond Video Shown Option 3 - 3 minutes (no video and no presentation slides) - Levy and Bond Fact Sheets Distributed - Board Member of Central Administrator make key comments about bond and levy Option 4 - 3 minutes (no video and no presentation slides) - Levy and Bond Fact Sheets Distributed - Principal makes key comments about bond and levy At a minimum, you will be expected to schedule two presentations with parents during January, February and March to include: 1) 20-minute presentation to a PTG, Booster Club, PAC, etc. leaders group (Option 1); and 1
2) a shorter presentation at a school event (e.g., school play, school musical, debate event, sporting event, bingo night, etc.) - at events where lots of parents are gathered - Options 2, 3, and/or 4. So, if you have a parent meeting scheduled for that first week of January, please coordinate with your school director and select one of the options listed. Otherwise, we'll review this information with you in more detail and answer your questions at our Jan. 6 meeting. Thanks, Mark
