Their lunch/recess time is being adjusted because their swim schedule interferes with their normal lunch/recess time. Here is their lunch/recess schedule for swimming days… 5th Grade: Lunch 11:05-11:25 Recess 11:25-11:40
4th Grade: Lunch 12:05-12:20 Recess 12:20-12:40
You might want to send them a snack to have before swimming since they are eating lunch later.
Free Family Science Night The Central/Takena PTA has scheduled a free Family Science Night on Thursday, January 11, 6:30-8:00 p.m. for all our Central and Takena families. This event is sponsored by OSU and will be held at Takena. The OSU Science and Engineering Department will set up activities for our students to try throughout the building. Come join us to experience a night of fun science activities and experiments!!! Future Chefs (3rd-5th grades only) Interested in participating in a “cook-off” in March? The Future Chefs National Challenge is coming soon! See attached letter from our Nutrition Services department for more information. (Recipe Entry Forms are available in Central’s office.)
Inclement Weather: It won’t be long before the bad weather is once again upon us, so here is a review of our inclement weather procedures. When the decision has been made to close school or delay the start, we rely on local radio stations, television stations, and FlashAlert for notification to staff and parents. Closure and delayed start information will ordinarily be broadcast by 6:30 a.m. This information will also be posted on the district website at www.albany.k12.or.us/delaysclosures.php. If you’d like to have an e-mail or text message sent to you, you can register with www.flashalert.net. Welcome Mrs. Moore Please help us in giving our new 4th grade teacher a warm welcome! Mrs. Moore will be replacing Ms. Grant as she retires. Mrs. Moore will be joining our staff beginning January 8. She comes to us from the Lebanon School District and has over 20 years’ experience. We are so lucky to have her coming to us!!! Adopt-a-Family Thank You Thank you for all of your wonderful gifts in support of our Adopt-a-Family project. We were able to support five families from our school community. The appreciation and smiles of the families we provided for this holiday season was indescribable. Rest assured, your efforts and generosity was very much appreciated by the receiving families. A huge special thanks to the PTA, Kelli Stahr, Renee Riley, and the Takena and Central Staff for coordinating and supporting this event, they did a wonderful job!
