Quality Assurance Tester Who we are SafeBoda is a pre-series A Ugandan-based startup on a mission to make bodas more safe, affordable, and convenient across Sub-Saharan Africa—while providing a more meaningful and lucrative career for drivers. And we think we have a shot to build a very valuable tech company in the process. Backed by the Shell Foundation, Development Innovation Ventures USAID, the Global Innovation Fund, and an angel tech investor, SafeBoda is well off to the races: we have nailed the driver-side model with 1100+ drivers, growing at 8% week-on-week over the last 6 months, and we are looking to better monetize our ~20,000 trips in Kampala per day. We have a strong MVP mobile app and great Product Team. We’re searching for a Quality Assurance Tester for our Product Team to help us build the best mobile application in Uganda.

Who you are You’re an app lover. Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Pinterest, you use them all. You love beautiful and intuitive mobile user interfaces. You have a passion for making simple, delightful products that solve everyday problems for consumers. You love technology, but also design, and understanding customers. You have confidence that you can solve any problem that is handed to you. You’re extremely detail oriented and organized. You notice typos in your friends’ Whatsapp messages and colleagues’ emails. You proofread your papers and reports three times before submitting them. You plan every hour of your day and keep a to do list for everything. You love to keep your room clean and your house in order. You are very comfortable with computers. You can type 40+ words per minute. You own a laptop and always try to be more efficient using it. You’re ready for a startup adventure and can dedicate significant time to helping it succeed; you have the hustle needed to make things happen in a challenging context. You like work that you can fully jump into because you’re passionate about it; you’re not looking for a boring 9-to-5 job. You like to be accountable for results. Lastly, you’re excited about working for a social-focused, for-profit company and laying the foundations of the tech industry in Uganda.
