Fredon Township School District June 28, 2016 A Regular Meeting of the Fredon Township Board of Education was held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Fredon Township Elementary School Board of Education office. The meeting was opened at 7:32 p.m. by Mrs. Courtney Wisinski, Board President. The following members were present on the call of the roll: Mrs. Courtney Wisinski, Mr. Thomas Knutelsky, Mr. John Niemasz, Mr. John Payne, and Mrs. Christina Liuzza. Also present; Chief School Administrator, Mr. Sean Dolan. The Board gave its pledge of allegiance to the flag. The following statement was read by Mrs. Wisinski: THIS IS A REGULAR MEETING of the Fredon Township Board of Education held for the purpose of transacting Regular Board business. The Open Public Meetings Act of 1975 was enacted to ensure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies. In accordance with this Act, annual notice of this year’s regular meeting schedule was adopted January 13, 2016 at the membership organizational meeting of the Fredon Township Board of Education. Notice of this meeting was published in the New Jersey Herald, posted in the Board Office, Main Office, and on the district website. Public Comment: Mrs. Douglas stated that the graduation was lovely and commented on what a great group of students the 6th grade class was as a whole. II. Curriculum: On motion by Mr. Niemasz seconded by Mrs. Liuzza, that the following Curriculum motions be approved as recommended by the Chief School Administrator: A. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves the Kittatinny Regional Consortium Science Curriculum for grades 6-8 revised on June 1, 2016. Adjustments shall be made, as needed, to update the Science curriculum to incorporate Next Generation Science Standard as we move from the CCCS. Both Mr. Niemasz and Mr. Knutelsky commented on how well the curriculum was written. Personnel: On motion by Mr. Niemasz, seconded by Mrs. Liuzza, that the following Personnel motions be approved as recommended by the Chief School Administrator: A.
That the Fredon Township Board of Education accepts the county approved contract for Mr. Sean M. Dolan as Chief School Administrator, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:7-8(j) at an annual salary of $127,513.00 commencing on July 1, 2016 for the 2016-2017 school year.
B.
That the Fredon Township Board of Education accepts the county approved contract for Mrs. Kristy McFarlane as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary, in accordance with 18A: 17-5, as recommended by the Chief School Administrator at an annual salary of $81,600 commencing on July 1, 2016 for the 2016-2017 school year, pending approval from the county superintendent.
C. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves the appointment of Megan B. Garman, as a maternity leave replacement elementary teacher, at a prorated salary of $50,940.00 (BA, Step 1) (salary will be adjusted to reflect new contract upon settlement) with a start date of August 31, 2016 through November 1, 2016 pending receipt of all required paperwork. D. That the Fredon Township Board of Education rescinds the motion from the June 13, 2016 Board of Education meeting due to the incorrect per diem rate for approving Mrs. Nancy Castelli, Part Time Child Study Team Secretary, summer work hours up to and not to exceed 10 days; 5 hours per day; at per diem rate of $69.25 effective July 1, 2016-August 31, 2016. E. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Nancy Castelli, Part Time Child Study Team Secretary, summer work hours up to and not to exceed 10 days; 5 hours per day; at per diem rate of $77.61 effective July 1, 2016-August 31, 2016. F. That the Fredon Township Board of Education rescinds the motion from the June 13, 2016 Board of Education meeting due to the incorrect per diem rate for approving Mrs. Melissa Van Blarcom, Part Time School Psychologist, summer work hours up to and not to exceed 18 days; 6 ½ hours per day; at per diem rate of $280.55. G.
That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Melissa Van Blarcom, Part Time School Psychologist, summer work hours up to and not to exceed 18 days; 6 ½ hours per day; at per diem rate of $100.00.
H.
That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves the Interlocal Shared Services Agreement with Stillwater Board of Education to provide a Music Teacher (Mr. Thomas Aroune) one day per week (.20) to Stillwater School for the 2016-2017 school year.

That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves the Interlocal Shared Services Agreement with Stillwater Board of Education to provide a PE Teacher (tbd) one day per week (.20) to Stillwater School for the 2016-2017 school year.

That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Kristen Karl and Miss Vanessa Telischak as Advisors to the Hobby Summer Club Session I sponsored by the Fredon Educational Foundation based on the approved grant in the total stipend amount of $1,064 (7/4/16 through 7/8/16) at the rate approved in FEA contract applicable at the time. K. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Danielle Arbolino and Mr. Rory Karl as Substitute Advisors to the Hobby Summer Club Session I sponsored by the Fredon Educational Foundation based on the approved grant in the total stipend amount of $1,064 (7/4/16 through 7/8/16) at the rate approved in FEA contract applicable at the time. L. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Nichole Reed, Mrs. Leah Mulvihill and Miss Courtney Mitchell as Advisors to the Mad About Science Summer Club sponsored by the Fredon Educational Foundation based on the approved grant in the total stipend amount of $1,776.00 (7/11/16 through 7/15/16) at the rate approved in FEA contract applicable at the time. That the Fredon Township Board of Education approves Mrs. Kristel Caffrey and Mrs. Jane Hooker as Advisors to the Girls on the Run 2016-2017 Club sponsored by the Fredon Educational Foundation based on the proposed grant, (pending funds and further information to be supplied by the teacher) at the rate approved in FEA contract applicable at the time.
