EDUCATION Stanford University, Stanford, CA Bachelor of Science, Product Design, 2008 RELEVANT COURSEWORK ME 216B: Implementation Spring 2008 • Capstone class in which I created a product and brought it through the complete development life cycle. The life cycle process included brainstorming, conducting market research, CAD modeling, part sourcing, manufacturing, pricing/financial modeling, as well as creating a competitive analysis, bill of materials, distribution channels, product layout drawings, an intellectual property report, and an MRD. The end result was a final product with related documents. ME 112: Mechanical Systems Design Winter 2008 • Implemented gear systems in mechanical design projects. ME 116: Formgiving Fall 2007 • Industrial design basics, executed three distinct design projects. ME 203: Manufacturing and Design Fall 2006 • Used manufacturing processes to build a fully functional go-kart. SKILLS • Computer programming experience in JavaScript, Java and HTML. • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and SolidWorks. • Knowledge of computer-aided video editing: Final Cut Pro and iMovie. • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes: welding, casting, milling and turning. • Experience with the design cycle/product development: brainstorming, sketching, rapid prototyping. • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Working understanding of the French language. EXPERIENCE MovieFest.com, San Francisco, CA June-August 2008 • Worked full-time as a user interface designer and took on a business development role for a tech start-up. Responsibilities included front-end web design and working one-on-one with a programmer to create the website, developing templates, conducting market and demographic research, competitor analyses and excel modeling. Worked directly with company founder to develop a 5-year business plan and create presentations for investors. Gained valuable entrepreneurial business experience. Resident Computer Coordinator, Stanford University, CA September 2007-June 2008 • Managed computing for Stanford University dorm. Assisted residents with computing issues, set up and monitored network, and functioned as the liaison for the University and student dorm. Assistant, Visual Resources Center, Stanford University, CA June 2007- June 2008 • Digitized, edited and archived slide collections for Stanford. Worked in a team environment and gained valuable experience with Photoshop. ACTIVITIES Stanford Division 1 Men’s Swim Team September 2004-June 2008 • As a varsity athlete, managed a rigorous schedule demanding year-round discipline and commitment. • Competitive schedule that required two practices per day (throughout school year) and travel throughout the country from the months of November through March. • Received the honor-athlete award from the Stanford University Athletic Department in 2005 and 2006. • Earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors in 2006 and 2007. Camp Kesem Summer of 2007, 2008 • Fundraised and served as counselor for Camp Kesem, a free summer camp for kids whose lives have been affected by cancer.
