Laurel Hill Makes “Best Places You Can Play” Top Ten List Laurel Hill Golf Club recently earned the number nine ranking in Virginia among GolfWeek’s 2015 “Best Courses You Can Play.” This prestigious honor is hard won and sought by golf courses throughout the region. To generate GolfWeek’s top ten lists, an experienced team of more than 700 evaluators rate courses across the country on the basis of ten different criteria. These include routing, conditioning, variety, and memorability of holes. Laurel Hill was designed by renowned golf course architect, Bill Love. Love is past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and led renovations for the 2012 U.S Open at the Olympic Club. Since opening in 2005, Laurel Hill has continued to receive accolades for its outstanding condition and layout. Considered one of the premier municipal golf courses in the nation, Laurel Hill is owned and operated by Fairfax County Park Authority. In addition to hosting the 2013 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, Laurel Hill along with two other area golf courses will be hosting the 2015 World Police and Fire games in June. This event will bring police and firefighters from countries worldwide to Fairfax County to compete in a variety of different events.
