Dress Code
4th Grade Travels to Goliad
The staff is starting to notice a few students coming to school out of dress code. The school year is not over and the dress code is still in effect. The biggest violations are occurring with girls wearing nail polish and/or make-up, students not wearing belts, different white socks instead of the white crew socks, and length of hair. Please refer to the 2015-2016 Parent Handbook under “Uniforms”. When a student is out of uniform the first time, he/she will be given a warning slip. When a student is out of uniform a second time or more, a parent will be called.
Mrs. Macias will be taking her 4th graders to Goliad, Texas, on Friday, April 15th to visit the missions and battlegrounds there. As 4th graders, they study all about our great state of Texas, including the early missions and the battles Texas fought to win its independence. They will return before school dismisses at 3:15. This is a trip that 4th graders have been taking for many years. We wish them a safe trip.
Wednesday Weekly Mass
The 2015-16 Yearbook is on sale for $30.00. Also, consider buying a personalized ad to be included in the yearbook. This is a nice way to honor your student by recognizing him/her through a personalized ad. You can order online from our school website or directly at http:// jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A09846118.
Parents who want their children to sit with them during our school Mass on Wednesdays are reminded to get them before Mass begins. It is distracting when a child is taken from their group after Mass begins. Also, the children must report to their class before going to Mass. In addition, the teachers and aides are teaching the children proper Mass behavior while at Mass. That includes kneeling, standing (not on the kneelers), sitting up straight at the proper times, and using prayer hands. We also expect the children to face the altar and pay attention to Mass. Please help us reinforce these behaviors when your child sits with you.
