THE MAGIC FEATHER
By Kefira
Once there lived a reindeer. His name was Harry. Harry liked to play catch the ball and lots of other games. His best friend was named Arnold. They like to play the same games. They played hide and seek for very very long times. They could play games all day.
One day Arnold had to go on a trip to a boring old city. He had to stay in a boring old hotel that a lots of people said was haunted. Arnold and Harry were very sad.
When they were apart Arnold wrote a note to Harry. He sent it in the mail. It said his parents liked the place that they were staying in, so they were going to live in that boring place.
When Harry got the note he was so sad and so surprised that he decided to go. He set off to where Arnold was. He got his hiking backpack and his coat. He hopped on the train to go to the haunted city.
He went to the Goulish Hotel because he thought Arnold might be there. He only stayed one night because of how freaky it was, but Harry thought it was kind of worth it because who would want to sleep in the streets?
The next morning Harry set out again. He stopped at Heaven's Delight for some lunch. When Harry got there they were serving money soup. If you are a human you might think it is crazy, but for reindeer it is delightful to eat. For older reindeer they served softer food like moldy hay because they can't chew money. Harry paid and ate his money soup with some salad and salad dressing and bread. It was very yummy.
Afterwards he went to a room called the restroom. In this case it doesn't mean a bathroom. It means a room where you rest and drink tea and stuff. Harry walked over to the couch in the restroom and collapsed on it and asked for a blanket and some tea. He settled in and got some cookies. When his brilliant magnificent fantastic glorious tea and cookies arrived he sat down and enjoyed everything that was happening right at that specific time.
One hour later, Harry fell asleep and had a magnificent dream. He was playing with Arnold and he found a magic feather. He held onto it and found out it could make you fly if he rubbed it five times. So he rubbed it five times and Arnold and Harry were off and away soaring above everything and everyone. It was so cool!
Then when they stopped flying they found out they were in a magical place. It was amazing! They saw a little tree house. They decided to climb up the ladder to the treehouse. Inside was a bed and a lot of toys. But then his dream ended because he woke up, Harry was desperate to follow his dream.
His parents had told him to always follow his dreams so Harry wanted to go back to sleep and finish his dream. He was also determined to go and find the magic feather. He had to decide what to do. After one whole hour he made up his mind to go and find the it.
He got out of the restroom, trotted out the door happily. But then he was not trotting along happily because he did not know where to go. He came to a big intersection and decided to go left. So he went trot, trot, trot, trot, trot, to the left. As he was trotting along he started singing one of his favorite songs. Everyone thought it was annoying. His song went like this.
"I am trotting, trotting, trotting, trotting along Merrily, merrily, merrily, trotting along, trotting along, trotting, trotting, trotting along... He could not sing the rest because an old reindeer said to him, "Can you stop yakking about and singing that annoying song?" Harry got that response every time he sang that song. He was really, really, angry, so he decided to yell back at the old man. He said, "Don't be so cranky!" but in reindeer language it would be "Loos yah ruce!" The old man was a pretty stubborn sort of grandpa deer, so he yelled back at Harry. "Remember young fellow. Respect your elders!" Harry got even angrier so he yelled back, "How old are you then? If you are so old, how old are you?
The old man said, " I have a memory problem so I forget."
Harry pretended not to hear him and kept going along. Then he saw a forest that looked magical and enchanted. Harry definitely thought that the magical feather would be in this forest. So he trotted into the forest and started looking for the magic feather. He looked high in the branches of trees and the low between the little strands of grass.
He looked for hours and hours until he found a lame old acorn. But he inspected it and took the top off. Inside was a feather, a magic feather. It was glimmering and floating around. Harry was a little scared, but forced his hand to do it. As he held on to it, he started to feel vibrations in his hooves.
Then, before he could yell, he was soaring off and away. He was flying! Then he landed ten feet away from his friend, Arnold. He was so surprised that he could not say a word. He walked over and hugged Arnold. Arnold turned around and immediately said, "Hi Harry!" Harry said, "Hello again." Then they hugged and lived happily ever after.
