Manager Enterprise Risk Management (x1) Circular 002 2018: Ref 002 Division – Enterprise Risk Management Reporting to – GM Enterprise Risk Management

Purpose The primary objective of this position is to develop, maintain, manage and execute a comprehensive process for identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on risks that may impact on organisational performance and ensuring risk and effective governance. Key responsibilities             

Develop, implement and maintain an ERM framework and plan with supporting policies and procedures Manage the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, policy and standards Play a lead role in the evaluation and remediation of operational risk deficiencies and risk events including root cause analysis and process improvement recommendations Co-ordinate divisional risk management committees Partner with appropriate areas such as Compliance, Fraud Management, Legal, Security, etc., as necessary to ensure operational risk events are properly addressed, documented and reported Develop and implement risk assessment methodologies, models and systems Assess and maintain the risk maturity profile of the organisation Facilitate the identification of risks utilising appropriate tools and techniques Facilitate the assessment of identified risks and ensure that risks are appropriately assessed with severity ratings Facilitate the compilation of strategic and operational risk registers Facilitate the development of risk response strategies (mitigation plans) Report all relevant ERM matters including; findings, risk positions and recommendations to relevant stakeholders Report on risk management performance and providing inputs

Advise senior management, business area managers and governance committees on enterprise risk management matters to ensure adequate risk management capability and proving necessary training to maintain the necessary level of competency Establish and maintain a risk management philosophy and culture within the organization and manage the coordination of risk management with all assurance providers Partner closely with management of all lines of business and functional areas on the development of key risk metrics, process controls, change controls and risk profile updates Manages corporate wide contingency planning/business continuity efforts Participate in the City of Johannesburg risk management projects or initiatives as assigned Ensure effective financial management of the division in compliance with relevant legislation and City Power Policies Actively manage contracts and projects to optimise outcome Ensure compliance with all internal and external Governance requirements

Minimum qualifications  

B Degree or Equivalent NQF level Certification in Risk Management or ISO31000

7 years’ experience in a Risk Management environment of which at least 4 must have been in a management role.
