Manager’s Review of MC 2013-2014 Boundary Dispute As many of you know, we have been in legal discussions regarding the neighbour’s plowing of a portion of the Cemetery’s grounds. During the last year we have sought to reach a settlement with the neighbour through a Court appointed mediator. We decided after lengthy discussion to end negotiations and legal activity and to close the first cross-cemetery road and erect a fence to define Cemetery boundaries. A smooth 4-wire and steel pole fence will be erected on the west side of the cemetery within Cemetery boundaries. The posts have already been installed. The posts will:  begin at the row of cedar trees and run approximately 81 feet SE to the  90 degree corner of the boundary at the roadway  run approximately 265 feet to the north east and  end at the corner of the Cemetery  wire is to be mounted on steel stakes  stakes set at one (1) rod intervals  wires spaced at 18, 26, 34 and 42 inches off the ground. Cemetery Activities Over the course of this year we sold a total of 9 interment rights, totalling $5,165. Since April we have had 6 burials. Our sympathies are with the families of: Donna Moore Lyle Ronald Ester Elliott Ruth Vogan Jean Elliot and Carol Mori Last fall we levelled 4 headstones. Those included: Andrew Mitchell, Hannah Pointon, Duncan McTavish and Samuel Lougheed. The Paul Doig stone will be done this year. Trustee for Election On behalf of the Board, I would like to warmly invite all those interested in standing as a Trustee for the Board. We have a strong and hard- working Board and we have in place all of the administrative supports required to meet our obligations to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and more importantly, to meet the needs of our plot owners. We meet on average 6 times per year with the majority of our meetings conducted by phone using a simple and free to you conference calling system.
