Mission Insite Lesson Informational Outline 1/23/16 Rev. Jim Penuel
[email protected] Opening Devotional Reading: Acts 1:6-11: We have been called by God to be “witnesses” in Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the Earth. What is our “Judea”, what is our “Samaria”, what are the “ends of the Earth?” How do we know and understand the community that we are called to serve?
Mission Insite is a tool that we use to understand the communities that we are called to serve. Integrates table data, graphs and analytical text. - ExecutiveInsite is unique as a data report because it reads like a narrative story accompanied by graphs and tables. It is built around “12 Insites” into a community or areas of study. It falls between QuickInsite and FullInsite. - The Impressions report provides an ‘impression’ of an area’s character including its likely overall mood and values and general community inclinations across a set of 20 polarities. Helps a congregation understand demographic/ population trends of the community. Gives information about religious affinities of their community. Information about level of educational attainment. Information about the make up of the average family in the community (dual parent homes, single parent homes, etc.) Information about the mindset of the people in the community. Most importantly: congregations can take this information and form ministries and mission based upon this information. For example: if it is noticed that there is a significant amount of single parent families in your community, what might your church do to minister to that population? How might you connect with these single parent families to know their needs and wants from a congregation?
