MOWR:
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MOVE ON WHEN READY & EARNING COLLEGE CREDITS
Move On When Ready Act, SB 132, was signed into law in July 2015 as a dual enrollment opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to attend a postsecondary institution during high school. Students who participate in MOWR will receive high school credit and college credit simultaneously while attending college classes on the college campus, full-time or part-time. MOWR provides high school students with opportunity to jump start postsecondary education during high school. Once a student meets the admission requirements and is accepted to a technical college, two-year college or four-year college, the student will be free to move on earlier to the next education level. Students can save money on future college costs because most expenses are paid by a funding mechanism established by the legislation.
