Gurney Cox’s native home and the home of relatives who wrote to him. He lived in Indiana, Tennessee, and in Birmingham, Alabama Guilford County, N.C. The Welch store was located near High Point Comments: Letters refer primarily to family illnesses and deaths, and to some extent local events, particularly a murder in 1892 in Randolph Co. Gurney Leonidas Cox was the son of Elihu Cox and Mary Reynolds and was born in 1862. Married first Anna R. Thorne in 1887 in Richmond, Ind. She died 1889. Married second Cordie C.
