Group of 30 Plus To date New Brunswick Water First Inc. (NBWF Inc.) has raised approximately $85,000 towards the $100,000 necessary to initiate the process to apply for an injunction against the NB Government. Legal expertise advises that up to $500,000 will be required. NBWF Inc. in association with the New Brunswick Anti Shale Gas Alliance, (NBASGA), is asking for your financial support to obtain an injunction against the NB Government to stop further development of unconventional Shale Oil and Gas. We are seeking a “quia timet” injunction, a legal term meaning there is a future probability of injury to our rights, our property and our interests if unconventional shale oil and gas drilling is pursued by the NB Province. A judge is able to grant such an injunction, indicating that there are risks, and further questions need to be answered before this development continues. All funds raised for the LA are accounted for and held in trust by the law firm Lutz, Longstaff & Parish in Hampton N.B. When the initial funding goal is realized, NB Water First Inc. will choose the legal team and proceed with the injunction. The process to choose the legal team and to make the necessary preparations to apply to the Court of Queen’s bench can take up to six months. Because of the preparation time that is necessary and the authorized intent of both Corridor Resources and Contact Exploration, two leasehold Shale Oil & Gas developers, to drill and frack wells in the Kennebecasis flood plain in Penobsquis and town of Hillsborough this spring of 2014 there is an urgency to raise the $100,000 ASAP. Therefore, NBWF Inc has proposed the Group

of 30 Plus.

This Group of 30 Plus will consist of individuals who, understanding this sense of urgency, will loan $1000 each to NBWF Inc. towards the $100,000 necessary for the LA. This loan will be repaid as funding in excess of 100,000 is obtained. In the unlikely situation that funding in excess of $100,000 is not achieved then the loan may not be repaid. However, it is noteworthy that the NBASGA and NBWF Inc is actively engaged in pursuing a variety of local and national fundraising campaigns to raise the $500,000 for the entire court process.
