INTRODUCTION
Your Neptune Lite is specifically design for enthusiastic e-biker who wish to have live view the battery pack and cell information for achieving it’s best performance and shelf life. It supports Bluetooth 4.0 or BLE for both iOS and Android devices1. The Neptune Lite is merely 41 x 35 x 7 mm in size and weight less than 10 grams, the unique circuitry design allow Neptune Lite client via smartphone, two way communication between the user and Neptune Lite to displaying critical battery usage data.

For compatible Android device, make sure it is BLE built-in and is version 4.3 or above; user may also download and run the Speedict Compatible Android Device tool to confirm that your device is compatible with Neptune Lite. This Manual only cover the Android devices; for iOS devices, we will release the manual once it is available.

SETTING UP YOUR NEPTUNE LITE CLIENT
Wire up your Neptune Lite according to the wiring diagrams described above, and have it power on. Upon download and install the Speedict Neptune Lite client from Google Play Store, the Neptune Lite icon will appear, and click on it to open.

When running the first time, Neptune Lite client will immediately search for surrounding Bluetooth 4 devices and the default device name Neptune Lite will display under the BLUETOOTH 4 DEVICES list, click on it to pair with the hardware.

When paired, the Bluetooth icon will changed to solid green and Neptune Lite is running on the ON-Line mode. If Bluetooth is absent or unavailable, the Neptune Lite client will run on OFF-Line mode; which is useful for accessing local imported records for analyse purposes.

Bluetooth Indictor! The Bluetooth status icon turn Green when Bluetooth is connected, Grey when it is disconnect or unavailable for Off-line local data accesses.

DASHBOARD
!
Dashboard display real time Voltage information with graphical presentation.
Click on page menu button and select DASHBOARD option.
On Dashboard view, user can define LOWEST ALERT ZONE; a graphical presentation with RED colour will appear to indicate the value reached preset value. Set the HIGHEST VALUE to indicate the dashboard end point to represent maximum value.

Click on page menu button and select CELL BAR option, customise both Lowest Alert and Highest Alert Zone value which is present in RED and DARK GREEN respectively.

Real time cell voltage

Current session highest cell voltage value, such as trip start voltage, which is the moment Neptune Lite turns on and measured

Current session lowest cell voltage, it can indicate the cell reaction at the moment of under stress Display Cell voltage differences amongst other cells on average, it can indicate the health status amongst other cells within the pack

DATAVIEW
!
Swipe to left or right on the Dashboard screen to access DATAVIEW (or second screen) to view more live data on a single screen. To setup DATAVIEW display fields, click on page’s menu on the upper right hand corner and select the style menu item.
For instance Row = 3 and Column = 2
Press and hold on data field block to change its present data type.

NEPTUNE LITE CLIENT OPTION

To access NEPTUNE LITE Client available options, click on client Option button on the Lower right corner.
SYSTEM OPTION
!
System Option store Unit preference and Bluetooth management information.
Click on PAIRED DEVICE button for Bluetooth management.
!
When Neptune Lite is paired, it will shown as Neptune Lite’s Bluetooth name (by default it is Neptune Lite, can be renamed by user). If it has never been paired, Neptune Lite’s Bluetooth name will shown as UNKNOWN.
BLUETOOTH OPTION - RENAME
!
After Bluetooth is connected, on Bluetooth option screen, click on DEVICE NAME button and the DEVICE NAME dialog box popup, assign a new name.

DEVICE OPTION

Device option change the preference and stored value of Neptune Lite.
CELL NUMBER!
!
Set the number of battery cell connect to Neptune Lite, incorrect cell number selected will display null cell on CELL BAR according to multi-cell connection wire scheme.
Connect 13 cells battery pack with incorrect CELL NUMBER set to 15
Connect 13 cells battery pack with correct CELL NUMBER set to 13
According to the multi-cell wire scheme, the battery pack connector’s (wire) cell 9 and 8 is short together and solder to battery cell’s 8 and connector’s cell 14 and 13 short together and solder to battery cell’s 12, when CELL NUMBER is set to 15 it will display cell 9 and 14 with zero potential (0 V), therefore it is recommend to set correct cell number for proper display as well as data logging.

RECORD OPTION

Record option provide interface for both on-line and off-line record management, import and data analyse.
IMPORT !
!
To analyse or share record from Neptune Lite, data has to be imported to the Android client first. Click on the IMPORT button to download the records index; click on the selected check box of record and then click on IMPORT RECORD button to start the record import process.
DELETE RECORD !
!
Individual record can be removed by left swipe to the record, and when Delete button appear, click on confirm to delete.

Chart View display historical data of trip record with both vertical and horizontal zoom features for pinpoint and compare selected value.

MEMORY OPTION

Memory page provide single interface to manage storage and records and when data is recording.
IMPORT RECORD !
!
Click on IMPORT RECORD button to import or synchronise records from Neptune Lite as described on RECORD OPTION section.
START / STOP LOG!
!
Start or stop data record on Neptune Lite is available on-demand to prevent unwanted data record, for instance, if user wants to analyse battery performance during trip or stress test rather than battery charging, user can power on Neptune Lite and click on START LOG button to start new session record and click on the STOP LOG when done.

Automatic recording is suspended, whenever power on or reconnect battery to Neptune Lite, it won’t record unless click on this button and change it’s status to START

Automatic recording is turn on, data will keep recording even battery is reconnect, the new record will automatically appended to the previous record until click on this button again to stop the recording.
For instance, when trip record is needed and during the trip and Neptune Lite is power on and off several times for reasons such as journey break or rest until user click to stop the session at the end of the trip; Neptune Lite will wrap up as single trip record between the START STOP duration.
ERASE!
!
Click on the ERASE button to free up all memories on Neptune Lite, please do make sure all wanted records are imported to client before erasing. any removed records can not be recovered.

FIRMWARE OPTION
!
Firmware option provide features for firmware version check and upgrade.
On Firmware main page, detail information of the current firmware version is shown on top section and on AVAILABLE VERSION section, both available update on the Internet (CLOUD) or downloaded (LOCAL) previously for upgrade or downgrade respectively.
Confirm upgrade and wait for the process complete.
During the upgrade process, when power is disconnected or there is an interruption that cause upgrade failed, user can re-start the process, and the Neptune Lite is not damaged.

Because of last firmware upgrade failed and the existing firmware has been erased, the current firmware version is now changed to Bootloader. Redo the firmware upgrade process again and patiently wait for the upgrade process to complete.

WIRE AND CELL CONFIGURATION

The Neptune Lite support battery cell from 10 to 15 with different chemistry and cell number combination for market standard, e.g. 15 x LifePo4 cells or 13 x Li-ion cells for 48V pack, 10 x Li-ion cells for 36V pack.

The below example of 10 cell configuration solder connector wire 12, 13 and 14 to cell 9’s positive, wire 7, 8 and 9 solder to cell 6’s positive, wire 3 and 4 solder to cell 3’s positive.

CARING INSTRUCTION! The Neptune Lite contains no user serviceable parts inside. It does not require special care, just gentle wipe the Neptune Lite with a damp cloth if it gets dirty and it can be stored anywhere other than an extreme environment or under direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time.
