Anticipation Builds and Expectations Shared for Upcoming Special Session on CT-N Capitol Report: Week in Review
Hartford, CT – This Friday at 7 p.m., Connecticut Network viewers will recap a week where the state’s legislative leaders shared expectations for the upcoming Special Session and a decision on a case related to campaign mailings was made on the latest episode of CT-N Capitol Report: Week in Review. Many eyes in Connecticut are focused on the upcoming Special Session where it is expected that revisions to the new state budget will be taken up by the General Assembly. This past week, Governor Dannel Malloy and Democratic leaders from the House of Representatives shared their expectations, while Republican leaders called for a complete do-over. Despite the uncertainty with the state budget, the Board of Regents for Higher Education and the UConn Board of Trustees went ahead with their tentative budget plans for the 2016 fiscal year. Capitol Report will review the comments made by state leaders, as well as the move made by the Board of Regents and the state’s flagship university. Elsewhere, the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC) made the decision this week to pursue legal action in the case related to Malloy-for-Reelection campaign mailings. This week’s episode will discuss the case and provide highlights from the groundbreaking ceremony for the new United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Research Center in East Hartford and the opening ceremony for the 2015 Travelers Golf Championship in Cromwell, both of which Governor Malloy attended.
