Absenteeism
If your child has regular absences or is absent for more than 3 days in a row we require a medical certificate on their return to school. Thank you. Please remember to phone the school if your child is going to be absent or late.
The Pita Pit
This term we are keeping all the school lunch envelopes, and at the end of the term will draw out 3 lucky children’s names. Their families and them (2 adults and 3 children) will become VIPs for a month, giving them half price pitas and smoothies. We will draw out another 10 envelopes to receive a free Pita pack and drink bottle. Order your Pita Pit each Friday at the school office.
Yellow Fluro Vest
All children have been issued with a school fluro vest. They must wear these at all times when they are out of the school grounds e.g. to and from school, on school trips etc. This is especially important now that the mornings are getting darker. If your child has lost theirs and they’ve made every attempt to find it, they will need to get it replaced. The cost is $10. Please see Mrs Swan to purchase.

Congratulations to the first two MathKwon-do black belts, Courtney and Portia from Ruma Wheke.

Free Home Insulation
Cosy Homes is an initiative in Dunedin to ensure that families and individuals who are eligible for free insulation are aware of and can access the scheme. The Cosy Homes scheme is offering free ceiling and underfloor insulation to households that qualify for the programme. The eligibility criteria are: your home was built before the year 2000 and has little or no insulation; and the home owner or main tenant has a Community Services Card - if you don’t have a card, contact Work and Income to find out if you qualify; and, there are children under 17 years old or over 65-years old living in the home; or someone living there with high health needs (for example asthma or heart issues); or you are a landlord with eligible tenants. Anyone interested can call one of the insulation providers Right House Ltd on 0800 744 569 or Smart Energy Solutions on 0800 888 766 to check their eligibility. More information and the application form is available on the following website link: http://www.brct.org.nz/assets/BRCT-publications/Cosy-Homes-Information-Sheet-and-application-form.pdf
