Purpose

The purpose of the Northville High School Competitive Dance Team is to promote and maintain school spirit through performances at various athletic events, activities, and competitions. In addition, the group will strive to develop character, leadership, and individual responsibility in preparation for a life of dance in a college setting.

Participation The teams are selected by an audition process. All current Northville High School students and incoming freshman are eligible to audition. Audition information will be posted on the Dance Team website.

2016-2017 Audition Dates: Tuesday, May 3rd, 3:30 – 4:30 pm Friday, May 6th, 3:30 – 5:00 pm in the NHS Auditorium Informational Meeting: (REVISED DATE) Tuesday, April 12th @7:00 pm in the NHS Forum Dance Season The Competitive Dance Team season starts at the end of August with a mandatory summer intensive and finishes in January with the annual performance showcase.

Practice Practice is typically held on Tuesday (2:30 – 4:30 pm) and Friday (2:30-5:00 pm). JV and Varsity times & dates may differ.

Events The Competitive Dance Team starts off the season with a mandatory Summer Intensive. Events that follow include: Homecoming Pep Rally and Parade, Workshops/Master Classes as selected by the coaches, Regional Dance Competitions as selected by the coaches, NHS Varsity and JV Basketball halftime performances, Dance Team Clinic, and the annual Dance Team Showcase.
