RICT [Rural Information and Communication Technology] The Rural Information Communication & Technology (RICT) which is a part of IT modernisation project-2012 involves computerization and digitally connecting all the Gramin Dak Sewak Post Offices, including those in rural areas. The objective is to provide a technology solution (ICT Device) to each Branch Postmaster (BPM) which will enable each of 7 approximately 130,000 Branch Post Offices (BOs) to improve the quality of services being offered to rural customers. It will increase the rural reach of the Department and enable Branch Post Offices to increase traffic of all financial remittances, savings accounts, cash certificates and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI). This is being enabled through the Rural System Integrator (RSI) and Rural Hardware (RH) solutions. Rural Post Offices will be enabled with a Hand Held device with biometric identification and Micro ATM enablement, wireless network, thermal printer to provide immediate receipts to customer and solar powered battery to charge and operate the Micro ATM. The ease of transactions will encourage rural citizens to avail the services of Post Offices thereby having a positive impact on the rural economy, besides improving financial inclusion.” MCD [Main computing Device] MCDis the device through which all transaction of a BO will be done it will be provided with the following device 1. Thermal printer – it is situated on the upper part of MCD . its main work is printing. 2. Finger Print Scanner- it is use to log on the device 3. MSCR- it is use to scan the magnetic card 4. SCR- it is use to scan Smart Card 5. Extra battery and charger 6. Pendrive 7. Adoptor – use to charge the device 8. After touching MGNREGS the Following screen will appear
MGNREGS enrolment Touch the field Touch New Benificiary Enrolment for fresh account holder and Existing Beneficiary Enrolment button for existing account holder For new holder enter name, address, date of birth, phone number Touch Next button Touch capture the photo and take photo of customer Touch submit For existing account holder write the account number Touch Next button Capture biometric Touch submit
All other transaction would be as per CBS software so follow the procedure of CBS operation

In RICT device we can do SB,RD,TD account opening, SB and RD deposit and SB withdrawal . Operation related to SSA account will be done manually and send to AO for further formality. After touching the CBS software we see the following menu CASH DEPOSIT CASH WITHDRAWAL MINI STATEMENT DAILY TRANSACTION REPORT OPEN NEW ACCOUNT HIGHVALUE WITHDRAWAL NEW ACCOUNT ENQUIRY SB DEPOSIT • Touch cash deposit button • Enter a/c no and touch submit • Touch INITIATE DEPOSIT • Enter amount and touch INITIATE TRANSACTION • Touch YES and Touch PRINT SB WITHDRAWAL • Touch CASH WITHDRAWAL • Enter account number and touch SUBMIT • Touch INITIATE WITHDRAWAL • Select signature and Touch MATCH • Enter amount and Touch INITIATE WITHDRAWAL • Touch YES and touch INITIATE TRANSACTION • Touch PRINT RD DEPOSIT • Touch CASH DEPOSIT • Enter RD account number and touch SUBMIT • Touch INITIATE DEPOSIT and touch FETCH ADDITIONAL DETAIL • Enter amount and Touch INITIATE TRANSACTION • Touch YES and touch PRINT

AT BRANCH OFFICE Touch HIGH VALUE WITHDRAWAL Enter account number and touch SUBMIT Touch NEW REQUEST and enter amount and touch CREAT NEW REQUEST Touch PRINT and print two copy Attach on copy with SB-7 and sent it to AO [also note the request number on withdrawal form] 2. AT ACCOUNT OFFICE After receiving of request the SPM/PM will open finacle Invoke EXCW command Function type Modify enter account no and request id GO Approve 3. AT BRANCH OFFICE [After receive approved SB-7] Touch HIGH VALUE WITHDRAWAL Enter account number and touch SUBMIT Touch ENQUIRY and select request nuber by touching the circle before it Touch INITIATE WITHDRAWAL Touch print and show the transaction on daily account DAILY TRANSACTION REPORT Use this after all transaction for a day is over Touch the field Select all accounts and touch NEXT Touch PRINT and print a copy attach it with BODA MINI STATEMENT Touch the field Enter the account number Touch SUBMIT Here You see PRINT button don’t touch it Use this only to verify ; printing of it will unnecessary use of paper

AT BRANCH OFFICE Touch OPEN NEW ACCOUNT Select SB and touch INITIATE FOR NEW ACCOUNT Enter CIF number if available ,enter name of holder Touch SUBMIT [like this the BPM will fill all the field ] Enter amount and touch INITIATE TRANSACTION Note the reference number on AOF and touch PRINT Attach one copy with AOF and give one copy to customer 2. AT AO The PA will invoke CASBAO Do as usual before only he has to put the reference no in RICT unique ID field The SPM/PM will verify in CASBAV After verification the PA will invoke HTM [not CXFER] Go Function Add Transaction Tye T/CI Go Debit A/c ID –> SOL ID+BOID+N [ For example the SOLID of Barpali SO is 76802901 BOID of Tulandi BO is L7958 so debit A/C id-76802901L7958N] Amount FundingAmount Ref No Ref No. (Available on Acknowledgement slip received from BO) Additional Details Go Next Screen Go Next Screen Click on Check Box Accept Click on ADD button Credit A/c no -> New account number Click on contra button POST [note the transaction id which should be verify by SPM/PM] [ opening of rd and td are same at BO as SB a/c opening and process at AO is also same but the PA has to put Reference number in RICT unique Id field. Closer of all A/c s are same as before which would be done at AO]
