The goal of this job function is to conceive and implement eSolutions that contribute to the export competitiveness of SME’s in ITC’s beneficiary countries, with a particular focus on eCommerce tools and applications and Virtual Market Places. Build ITC’s support of eBusiness efficiency tools, enabling SME’s to access digital tools necessary for export effectiveness. The outputs expected from this job are: • Awareness is raised among ITC’s stakeholders about the potential for eSolutions in particular online e-Commerce tools and applications, Virtual Marketplaces and similar networks to contribute to the export competitiveness of enterprises, • A network of partners is created and managed to build commitment and resources for the implementation of eSolutions that support export competitiveness of SME’s, • ITC’s stakeholders (in particular TSI’s in developing and least developed countries) are trained and advised on the design and implementation of related eSolutions, that are relevant in improving SME’s access to international markets. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Enterprise Competitiveness Section (ECS) and direct supervision of the Senior Adviser International Marketing and Branding, the eSolutions for Business Adviser will: Closely coordinate project implementation with the other ITC divisions and sections. In doing so, s/he will actively contribute to the project planning, implementation and evaluation activities undertaken by the Enterprise Competitiveness Section (ECS) on marketing-related matters and cross-cutting themes;

Implement specific projects, especially in the framework of large ITC programmes, with an emphasis on online marketing and the electronic commerce of goods and services, coordinate the work of projects' consultants, acting as the section's focal point for these projects, and ensure timely delivery of projects;

Carry out specialized training on the above-mentioned practice area, with an emphasis on online marketing, e-commerce and digital networking for SMEs in developing countries and transition economies;
Represent the section at the in-house meetings;
Participate in and facilitate seminars organised by the section or other sections of the organisation;
Contribute to the promotion of ITC's tools and services in beneficiary countries in the framework of the project implementation process, in particular on the basis of digital marketing techniques and blended learning applications;
Cultivate a list of potential beneficiaries and projects that could be undertaken by the ECS eSolutions for Business team;
Contribute to the Business Development effort by providing clear explanations of methodologies for projects and the potential value of eSolutions toward potential beneficiaries and donors;
Participate in the review of projects initiated by other groups in ITC in order to identify potential projects for the eSolutions for business team: represent the other members of the team (including Export Marketing and Branding) and ensure that they are informed about such potential projects and their input is taken into consideration in the design of the projects;
Contribute to further develop project-related networks through maintaining regular contacts with project stakeholders and mobilize new members, further to the expansion of ITC's activities in related export development. New members will be selected from both the business communities and trade promotion institutions;
Research, edit, present and update information for members of the project networks, ensuring that all content is up-to-date and relevant;
Research and develop fact sheets (reporting on innovation, best practice, guidelines and international standards in digital marketing and commerce and online networking statistics and other Information for internal and external purposes;
Design and develop performance indicators for the function;
Based on ITC's results-based management methodology and criteria provide timely reports in order to ensure proper impact measurement and technical assistance sustainability, taking Into account the methodology defined by large projects;
Prepare and write presentations, reports, newsletters and web pages on themes appropriate to his/her duties and specialization;
Contribute to the preparation of sector-focused case-studies on web marketing and e-commerce related issues as well as market and statistical research reports;
Perform other duties as required.
Education: Advanced university degree in business administration, international trade or other related field. Note: A combination of relevant academic qualifications and extensive relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work Experience: A minimum of five years of work experience in international trade, with several years in the analysis and application of information and communication technologies, online marketing and digitalnetwork development.

Knowledge and Skills: First-hand knowledge of online marketing and electronic commerce, if possible acquired in developing countries. Languages: Advanced English and French. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
