About Faculty of IT & Computer Science Understanding the universal need of IT specialists in diversified sectors of society, Parul University runs Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Integrated courses under the Faculty of IT & Computer Applications for preparing experts in the area of Information Technology & Computer Science. By means of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Programme, Parul University provides a platform to commence a career in the field of IT and Computer Science. It is a 3-yrs course. The BCA programme facilitates exposure and rigorous training on fundamentals of IT and Computer Application related subjects and technologies. Parul University envisions that successful completion of BCA degree would prepare not only an industry-compliant graduate but also a qualified candidate for further post graduate studies such as MCA. The Master of Computer Application (MCA) Programme at Parul University offers Post Graduate programme in the domain of IT and Computer Science. The Department of MCA offers two flavours of MCA programme: 3-yrs (Regular) MCA and 2-yrs (Lateral) MCA. The MCA programme focuses on appropriate blend of current and emerging areas in IT and Management. The department of MCA aims to deliver extensive exposure to latest IT trends and technologies in association with various stakeholders from industry and academia. The Integrated Master of Computer Application (IMCA) is a 5-yrs Integrated Programme offered at Parul University. The programme is an excellent opportunity for a candidate having strong objective from the very beginning of his graduation study to cultivate his career in the domain of Information Technology. The programme facilitates balanced exposure to fundamental subjects and emerging areas of IT& Computer Applications and modern requirements of industries.

Dr. Ketan Kotecha Provost Higher education system is undergoing massive transformation around the globe. The biggest challenge, which universities around the world facing are employability coupled with affordability, delivering holistic curriculum, developing skills and inculcating the positive attitude. The need of the hour is to envision a next-gen university which can be a Destination University for students as well as faculty members. Understanding these needs, Parul University has envisioned an education system, which is robust and dynamic. We are initiating curriculum, revamping by making teaching-learning more rigorous, that will promote the holistic development of the student ; at the same time it will make them the keystone of the society. This is our Dream! As the future is so unpredictable, we create dynamic job scenario and prepare students to adept and adopt the globalization as well as we make them life-long learners. We understand that the learning happens in formal and informal spaces. Henceforth, ICT (Information & Communication Tools) has been integrated in regular classes providing blended learning, thus brining world class and renowned academicians /researchers in our own classroom. Developing Skills of the students to make them employable or support them for their entrepreneurial journey is our prime foci. Dr. Narayan A. Joshi Dean - FITCS Director - MCA Faculty of IT and Computer Science, Parul University has materialized as one of the prime IT education providers at global level. Parul University offers 100+ programmes in various disciplines housing 28000+ students, 500+ international students from 48 different countries. Parul University has strong linkages/MoUs with several national &multinationals including NASSCOM, TCS, RedHat, L&T, Reliance and many others for betterment of students and academics. Looking to the pervasive need of IT professionals in various sectors of society, Parul University offers Post Graduate, Under Graduate and Integrated programs in the domain of Computer Applications under the Faculty of IT and Computer Science. Various departments under Faculty of IT and Computer Science strive in preparing IT-industry ready professionals by means of various skill development courses, vocational courses, co-curricular & extra-curricular activities, industry visits and expert lectures in addition to the rigorous classroom teaching learning. Parul University also emphasizes on offering diversified additional courses related to career development, communication skills improvement and entrepreneurship for overall development of student. Parul University emphasizes on usage of modern ICT tools and services for students and teachers by means of A to Z course-blog and Google Classroom to enable 24X7 teaching and learning. Further, Faculty of IT & Computer Science gives importance to enrichment of its faculty members by facilitating diversified training programmes such as – workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDP), Short Term Training Programmes (STTP), seminars, conferences and industry trainings – in order to leverage benefit to its students. Moreover, for the overall grooming of the students, the Faculty of IT & Computer Science periodically organizes technical events such as 'AppliFest'. Such events provide platform to the students to showcase their talents and skillsets in fierce competitions and present cutting edge technologies. Such competitions provide a myriad of opportunities to students, a platform to demonstrate their skills, a stepping stone to achieve greater things in life. Students can represent unconventional but effective ways of leadership, participation and exposure to societal issues. Parul University also encourages the students in participating such technical/non-technical events in other at par universities and institutes. About Institute Parul Institute of Computer Application (PICA) was established in the year 2012 as an initiative of starting Under Graduate level course for Computer Application development approved by Government of Gujarat. Our main vision is to respond the changing needs of IT based companies as well as satisfying the needs of other sectors of market demonstrate equality, innovation, ethical standards and collaborate with value adding organizations to meet the needs of local people.PICA offers 3-Years Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) Programme and 5-Years Integrated Master in Computer Application (IMCA) Programme. The Institute building has Classrooms, Seminar Hall, Library and well configured Computer Lab with modern teaching aids for boundless learning and development of programming skills of students. The library has good infrastructure, with more than 7 journals and 2651 books on various subjects and current technologies as well as possessing membership of numbers of digital libraries. The computer laboratory has enough computer systems with broad band internet connectivity. Currently we have more than 55 International Students from different countries like Rwanda, Zambia, Burundi, and Kenya studying in the vibrant culture of college. Institute has well-qualified experienced faculty members supported by technical personnel to conduct classes and laboratory sessions effectively. Institute regularly arranges Expert Lectures, Workshops by inviting IT professionals from reputed organizations for sharing experiences as well as providing guidance to shape the career of students. To understand the current trends and technologies of Industry, Institute also organizes Industrial Visits for the students. The Institute has strong linkages with the IT Industries, so that students get very good opportunities to enter into Corporate world. Apart from training and placement activities, students are getting benefits to become an Entrepreneur, as Institute has active Entrepreneur Development Cell to nurture the ideas of innovative minds of students. Gist of Rules & Regulations ADMISSIONS: Admission to regular MCA Programme: Candidate shall have appeared at CMAT examination 2017 conducted by AICTE and shall have passed qualifying examination (graduation) with minimum 50 % (45 % for SC/ST/SEBC). Candidate shall also have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) or Bachelors’ degree with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects. For MCA Lateral Entry (direct Second Year), candidate s who have passed the qualifying examination in the stream of Bachelor of Computer Application or Bachelor of Science (IT) or Bachelor of Science (Computer) are only eligible. Duration of MCA Programme: MCA (Regular): 3 years MCA (Lateral Entry): 2 years Maximum duration allowed: 2 years after completion of minimum prescribed duration Glimpses of Academic Rules ·
