1. Operating Instructions

2. Using the Board Holder and Arm Rest

The PCT-100 Pre-heater Convection System is used to preheat a PCB for soldering and to remove a variety of components. It uses a thermocouple feedback temperature control technique to regulate output temperature. The adjustable knob controls the required stable heating temperature to below 300 C°. The system protects itself automatically, when the fan is stopped, the heating is stopped automatically. The shell is an ESD safe design.

To aid in user comfort and ease-of-use, OK International has developed a Board Holder and Arm Rest for use with the PCT-100.

Connect the power cord Make sure the On/Off Switch is on “0" (off). Connect power cord to the back of the unit. Plug into power outlet. The amber light will turn on and the fan will run for about 180 seconds. When the LED is off, the fan will stop.

Distance from PCB to the top plate: 2.2" (55.88mm) maximum 0 .7" (17.78mm) minimum

Switch on the unit Flip the On/Off Switch to “I" (on). The green light will indicate that the system is working. Adjust the temperature Turn the Heat/Temperature knob clockwise to increase the temperature up to 300 C°. Switch off the unit Flip the On/Off Switch to “0”. The amber light will indicate the system is off. The fan will continue to run for about 180 seconds. This enables the heater to cool down properly. Then LED turns off and the fan stops.

BH-100 Board Holder Specifications Maximum PCB size: 12" (304.8mm) wide Minimum PCB size: 2.5" (63.5mm) wide

Distance from PCB to the heater cone top: 2.0" (50.8mm) maximum 0.5" (12.7mm) minimum Board Holder 1. Open the board holder fingers by using one of the knobs on the sides of the base. Place the PCB into the fingers. Adjust the fingers into desired position by sliding them in the rail. Tighten the fingers, against the PCB, using just enough force to hold the PCB in place. Do not use too much force as it will distort the PCB.

2. Position the board holder with the PCB over the pre-heater airflow. Adjust the desired height using the knobs on the top of the arms.

3. Turn on Pre-heater following Operating Instructions. 4. Solder as usual.
