The early years of Spanish rule and early years of independence are not covered in this book. These years are under the Kingdom of Guatemala, Empire of Mexico and the Central American Republic. The first pictured coin is 1859, and all coins after are covered. Mintage figures are not in the book. There are a few notes for coin collectors.
