Higher education system is undergoing massive transformation around the globe. The biggest challenge, which universities around the world facing are employability coupled with affordability, delivering holistic curriculum, developing skills and inculcating the positive attitude. The need of the hour is to envision a next-gen university which can be a Destination University for students as well as faculty members. Understanding these needs, Parul University has envisioned an education system, which is robust and dynamic. We are initiating curriculum, revamping by making teaching-learning more rigorous, that will promote the holistic development of the student ; at the same time it will make them the keystone of the society. This is our Dream! As the future is so unpredictable, we create dynamic job scenario and prepare students to adept and adopt the globalization as well as we make them life-long learners. We understand that the learning happens in formal and informal spaces. Henceforth, ICT (Information & Communication Tools) has been integrated in regular classes providing blended learning, thus brining world class and renowned academicians /researchers in our own classroom. Developing Skills of the students to make them employable or support them for their entrepreneurial journey is our prime foci. Global exposure of the students is also one of our priorities and thus we envision many international collaboration in future. About the University Parul University came into existence on April 21, 2015. Earlier, since 1990, Parul Group of Institutions was managed by Parul Arogya Seva Mandal Trust. At present, the university has 3 constituent campuses spread over in Limda (Vadodara), Ahmedabad and Rajkot. There are a total of 22 constituent Institutions, 2 diploma colleges with the trust and one PGDM autonomous programme. The total number of degree and diploma programmes, both at under-graduate and post graduate levels, number 241. The university has a sprawling 105 acre campus at Limda, Vadodara where its headquarters is located. The university provides state-of-art facilities in the form of classrooms, laboratories, workshops, sports and games, transport and other facilities required for overall personality development of students. About 25,000 students, of whom more than 250 are international students, study in the university. They are mentored by about 2000 well-qualified and experienced faculty members. The university has separate wings for developmental activities in the form of Career Development Cell, International Relations Cell, Training and Placement Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell and International Students' Affairs Cell. The university also offers other facilities such as services of Parul Sevashram Hospital, Parul Ayurved Hospital and Jawaharlal Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital at Limda campus and services of Homoeopathic Hospital at Ahmedabad and Rajkot campuses.

CDC Department

In Parul University, along with the core subjects' emphasis is laid on the hands–on training for future professionals. Parul University has introduced mandatory Career Development Courses as part of its mainstream curriculum in all of its faculties. This includes a range of skills proficiency in English & other Foreign Languages, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal/ Non-Verbal Reasoning for various competitive examinations. Parul University offers “add-on” skills along with academic knowledge to bring the students at par with the best of Academia around the world. The dynamic corporate world requires up to date and technologically dynamic skills. The Career Development Centre aims to guide students to think in terms of careers where they can excel in their inherent potential.Highly qualified trainers of CDC regularly conduct seminars & workshops on Personality Development, Behavioral Skills, Etiquettes & Manners, Goal Setting, Time Management, Career Planning, Effective Communication Skills, Interview Techniques, etc. The body of CDC comprises more than 55 highly qualified trainers. We have designed demand driven curriculum meeting the needs of all levels of students keeping in mind the requirement of corporate. Regular sessions are conducted in all faculties of university to teach the designed curriculum. Moreover, CDC members also organize Teacher Training Workshops, Faculty Development Programmes & STTPs regularly to enhance the teaching skills of the faculty members and to promote innovative teaching methods among its faculty members. Introduction of Career Development Courses as part of Mainstream Curriculum in many faculties has received favorable response from all stake holders of University.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) At Parul University Email :[email protected] Phone : 02668-260350 Global to local economy in search of sustainable growth always look for employment generation as option to strengthen the economy, however in present scenario employment generation for self or entrepreneurship is thrust area in any economic policy framework. Today, we at Parul University can showcase our entrepreneurial journey or process, which could take shape with continuous and sustainable effort of a dedicated team behind it with adequate professional to academic guidance and acumen. University at this juncture is having a dedicated entrepreneurship development Cell (EDC) where innovation is included up to patent filing apart from nurturing early to mature stage startups, technology to nontechnology based. EDC's objective is to nurture student's ideas to assess business and market feasibility so that student can create their startup. Not only creating a startup but to scale-up the startup is within the framework of cell where mentors help student startup to prepare for pitching if students are interested to avail the funding opportunity from agencies like banks, funding agencies, venture capitalist or angel finance apart from various government agencies. In this process quite a good number of student startups are now operating in the market which are nurtured and mentored by entrepreneurship development cell. Well organized activities of entrepreneurship development cell of Parul University have been recognized by various platforms where students participate to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. Today, Parul University's entrepreneurial ecosystem have been recognized by achievements in National Entrepreneurship Challenge in IIT-Powai where our team emerged as champion team in leader-board. Women Development Cell

Eradication of social evils has been the Principle aim of Constitution of India. Article 15 of the Constitution of India prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth. Article 42 makes provision for securing just and human conditions of work. Article 15 –A (e) makes it incumbent on every citizen to promote harmony and spirit of the common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic, and regional or sectional diversities, to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women. India is also a signatory to the convention or the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against women. As per UGC guidelines, the Women's Development Committee of the University is constituted in the University. The committee is independent of the Internal Complaints Committee of the University. About Physiotherapy Physical therapy or physiotherapy is a health care profession which aims the physical treatment and management of disease or condition which enables people to reach their maximum potential. 'Physical therapists' or physiotherapists are primary healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like in their daily lives. Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. Understanding the universal need of Physiotherapists in the health care Profession, Parul University runs Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses under the Faculty of Physiotherapy for preparing experts in the Field of Physiotherapy. About Bachelor of Physiotherapy: Bachelor of Physiotherapy is Professional paramedical under graduate Programme. It is total four and a half year course after 10+2. BPT includes four years of academic studies and six months of Internship. Academic study includes some subjects like human anatomy, physiology, medicine, orthopedics, Gynecology, Surgery and some subjects specialize for physiotherapy like Exercise therapy, Electrotherapy, Biomechanics, Physiotherapy in Medical & Surgical Condition, Orthopedics, Neurological conditions, Pediatric Conditions and Women health. Some Unique features include Eligibility to Register for MPT, prefix Dr. to name with suffix PT in bracket and ragistrable qualification after completion of Course. After completion of course the Physiotherapist candidate may provide services in Hospitals, pursue own clinic and can provide community services and academics. About Master of Physiotherapy: University offers 2 years Programme after completion of BPT .The core areas of the MPT course are introductory and advanced musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, sports and Community based Rehabilitation applied to patients across the lifespan. Biomechanics, occupational health and community health are incorporated in various units of study; and evidencebased practice and professional practice are embedded throughout the curriculum. Students will also undertake university-organized clinical practice placements in the second year of the course. The skills required to practice advanced clinical reasoning are progressively developed during the course.

Department of Physiotherapy Anatomy Lab: The purpose of anatomy lab is to take study the internal structures of a living organism for which Virtual Anatomy Lab is developed to provide virtual access to the models, microscope slides and dissection materials utilized in the anatomy.

Physiology Lab: The Human Physiology Laboratory introduces students to laboratory techniques in the study of physiology and provides demonstrations of processes learned in the Human Physiology. Laboratory exercises cover a wide range of topics from classic experiments in muscle, nerve, and cardiac physiology to human exercise and ventilation studies.

Exercise Therapy Lab: Exercise Therapy lab is equipped with state of art facilities of gait re-education unit, strength training unit, balance and posture rehab unit, movement therapy unit etc., Different exercise techniques are demonstrated in the lab and the students are encouraged to practice these different techniques on each other or on simulated models and gain confidence in per forming theses skills before implementing the same on the patients.

Electrotherapy Lab: Electrotherapy uses electrical energy to promote healing, repair tissue and reduce pain. In physiotherapy, this includes ultrasound, interferential, TENS and pulsed shortwave therapy. Electrotherapy is the use of electrical energy as a medical treatment. The term has also been applied specifically to the use of electric current to speed wound healing. Additionally, the term "electrotherapy" or "electromagnetic therapy". Suspension Therapy Lab: Suspension training is a tool that uses body weight and gravity to challenge the neuromuscular system in ways conventional exercises are unable to accomplish. The suspension trainer provides an alternative to working out with an exercise machine. The system-which uses a device that hangs from the ceiling-was developed by Navy Seals. All exercises are performed standing or in suspension, thus increasing stabilizing musculature and posture, integrating multi-joint physiotherapy exercises for enhanced coordination and neuromuscular recruitment.

Rehabilitation Lab: The purpose of rehabilitation is to train the students for restoring some or all of the patient's physical, sensory, and mental capabilities that were lost due to injury, illness, or disease. Rehabilitation includes assisting the patient to compensate for deficits that cannot be reversed medically.

EMG and NCV Lab: Purpose of this lab is to train students for nerve conduction study which is done to find damage to the peripheral nervous system, which includes all the nerves that lead away from the brain and spinal cord and the smaller nerves that branch out from those nerves. This test is often used to help find nerve problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome or Gullian-Barre syndrome. An EMG is done to find diseases that damage muscle tissue, nerves, or the junctions between nerve and muscle. These problems may include a herniated disc, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or myasthenia gravis (MG).

Conferences Physiosummit: A Global Physiotherapy Apex for students of Physiotherapy is organized every year by Physiotherapy Faculty of Parul University. More than 1500 Physiotherapy students and Professionals from all over India Participate in Event. Eminent Academicians and Professionals are invited for Pre-Conference workshops, Expert Session and they also play role of judges for the Competition.

Conphycs-2015: th Conphycs is state level Physiotherapy conference held by different Physiotherapy colleges of Gujarat. 9 Gujstate Conphycs was organized by Parul Institute of Physiotherapy and Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College. Different Scientific, sports and cultural events were organized during this conference. Students from different Physiotherapy colleges of Gujarat and Academician have attended this conference.

Social Activities Physiotherapy Camp: This physiotherapy camp is being organized to spread awareness among the people regarding the various orthopedic problems and the required treatment at an affordable cost. Patients facing troubles like Neuro problem, obesity and excess fat are also be provided with free counseling. The aim of such camps is to help and benefit the people provided by voluntary organization.

Women's Development Cell The Women's Development Cell of Parul University organized a one day workshop “Power of Women” under women's development cell on 8 March, 2016 for women progress; aims to create unique work culture and promote the all around development of women.
