Polymeric Network 1. Introduction This document introduces the Polymeric Network, a blockchain oriented protocol that offers Blockchain-as-a-Service to its users. Since the appearance of Bitcoin in 2009, blockchain technology has become quite popular and many alternatives have emerged, that extend the “traditional” e-coin applications, to smart contracts, crowdfunding, etc. The purpose of Polymeric is to combine the main features of the various altcoins into a system that is open to the users, and give them the possibility to instantiate their own individual blockchains and cryptocurrency, in parallel, each customized to its initiator’s preferences. Polymeric is composed of a stable core, called “Quartz”, which provides basic blockchain services and the cryptocurrency that gives fuel to the network. Users create individual blockchains, called “Particles”, that can be configured differently (e.g. different proof algorithms, different fee policy, etc.). Although heterogeneous, Particles are linked to each other and to Quartz, with the “Molecular” framework. Molecular can be thought of as a middleware that allows cross-chain validations and transactions, thus allowing the creation of powerful distributed applications, such as cloud storage and big data management, publishing networks, social networking, etc.

Polymeric Network 2. Polymeric Network Polymeric is a network where multiple, independent blockchains can exist in a parallel manner, carrying their own characteristics and shaping its form to fit with other elements of the constructed layer. A single blockchain of the network can be deployed by a single entity and maintain the historical transactions made throughout its entire existence. Each blockchain could have important characteristics that will increase the efficiency and the usage capabilities, providing an architecture where the blockchain will be used as the backbone of the infrastructure, applied in real-world as a turnkey solution, elevating the digital environment with all the benefits arrived from the blockchain technology. Features such as Smart Contracts and Arbitrary Transactions can be used to enhance the infrastructure of an operational service which is totally relied on blockchain. Blockchains within the Polymeric Network would be able to cross-link with each other generating networks where will exist and operate independently, without a central authority to oversee or attempt to apply any changes. The Polymeric Network will have all the characteristics of a Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS), delivered as a Software that will let you develop and deploy Blockchain Applications. Businesses and Enterprises can take the advantage of distributed ledgers to develop and deploy blockchain applications by using Polymeric Network without the need of a third party to be hooked on their service. Individuals can also use the Polymeric Network as their owned BaaS solution to learn about the blockchain and the tech behind of it, test it and securely store their own data onto a “Cloud” strictly secured by their own terms. The Polymeric Network will be designed and developed in Java, a language that is the most used programming language across businesses and one of the most popular programming language in the world.

Polymeric Network

Polymeric Network 2.1 Molecular Molecular is a framework on top of each blockchain and is used to identify, verify and index blockchains of the Polymeric Network. Every blockchain will have the ability to create bonds, where will be used to cross-link blockchains making the Polymer Networks feasible. The bonds characterized by the properties of the blockchain set upon the Genesis Process. Specific rules can be applied to the Molecular providing extra abilities for the entire network. Intranets could be deployed by setting a private connection to specific peers and also, public data can be served as a new form of Web. For example, a bond can be found when the user sets his owned blockchain as public through the entire Polymeric Network. In that case, Molecular matches this blockchain with other public blockchains and distributes this ledger across the Polymeric Network. Molecular can index specific elements across the Polymeric Network, creating and sustain several networks, setting them on top of Polymeric Network in a parallel manner of existence. Particles Metadata will be the keys that Molecular will lookup to identify bonds. The Molecular will be integrated into the core and as a standalone Java App. It will be used as a bridge to achieve connections. Molecular will read the state of the blockchain according to the Genesis Contract and whenever is guided will retrieve or share the data across the Polymeric Network and will operate the given tasks. As a standalone Java App can be used as a public spot to serve the network as a tracker, making this way the network accessible for usage outside of the network, from the current web.

Polymeric Network 2.2 Particles Each blockchain within the network will be presented as a Particle. Whenever a blockchain is issued, characteristics will be set upon creation that will identify the properties of this specific Particle. Genesis On the launch of a blockchain users will input the specifications of their owned blockchain. Specifications will be a set of elements that will be following the blockchain in its entire existence. The most important element that needed to be set on a Particle is the publicity status. There are three options available, Public, Private and Semi-Private. The Public Particle A Particle that will be considered as Public is a blockchain where the entire history (Ledger) will be shared with anyone who would like to participate on it. The Public Particles can be used to carry over data in a decentralized way, data accessible by everyone. Public Particle is writable by everyone that participates in the Polymeric Network and follows the rules to apply changes in the Particle. The Semi-Private Particle The Semi-Private Particles are blockchains generated by two or more users with a common access rule for the participants to join this blockchain. The Semi-Private Particle will be generated whenever a user interacts and communicates with another user of the Polymeric Network, establishing a secured and uninterruptible layer of communication between shared endpoints. The Private Particle The Private Particle is a blockchain maintained and executed by a single entity in order to satisfy the needs of establishing a secure and accessible database (a.k.a. blockchain) over the internet, preventing third parties from accessing the data carried by this entity. Genesis Contract Upon the Genesis of the blockchain, a Smart Contract will be created known as the Genesis Contract. This smart contract will generate an address without the need of a private key. It will carry the informations that Molecular will retrieve in order to identify Bonds. Rules will set by the issuer such as the Publicity Status (Public, Private or Semi-Private). This Contract address will be a non-usable address and will work as a burn address. Particles Metadata On every Particle, there will be a set of Metadata values. Each value will specify a given set of characteristics readable by the Molecular. Those values will include writable details such as Name, Group, Peers List and custom values set by the owner.

Polymeric Network 3. Quartz Quartz will be the very first coin of the Polymeric Network. The Quartz will represent the core elements of a blockchain within the network, attempting to become the currency of the entire network used across multiple blockchains to fuel transactions. The Quartz will be used to launch the concept of the Polymeric Network, to establish a powerful network and to keep deploying core elements of the project. As the very first coin, the features can be controlled the through development progress and released after several crucial stress tests made during the development process. Proof The Quartz will be relied on a Proof Of Stake Algorithm (POS). Coin Supply The total supply of Quartz will be 100.000.000. Fee A minimum fee for every transaction made within Quartz will be 0.00000100.

Polymeric Network

Polymeric Network 4. Synthesys Synthesys is a custom layer created specifically to generate a decentralized web that will exist within the Polymeric Network. A layer designed on top of the Molecular that will index specific elements from the Particles and serve content across eligible participants. A combination of predefined properties will be used to launch blockchain that will be a part of the Synthesys. Those predefined properties will be the key to index Particles made for the same purpose. Main elements of Synthesys Synthesys is using the below elements found within a single blockchain. ● ● ●

Resources ○ Content Stored on the blockchain Social ○ User Profile on the blockchain Smart Contracts ○ Contracts on the blockchain

By retrieving the above elements the Synthesys will be able to identify content shared with the purpose to exist on a net in a decentralized way of existence. The social networking will be a “Core” element of this new form of web, a web that will arise as a result of the infrastructure made by Synthesys.

Polymeric Network 8. Funding Polymeric Network stands for a new way to interact and operate with the blockchain technology and the entire digital currencies environment. As a project that needs a long term support, an ongoing research and development and has a target to maximize the usage of the blockchain tech, requires funding to become a sustained project across time. The Polymeric Network team will launch two funding rounds, a Pre-Sale round made at the early stages and a Crowdsale. Participants on both funding rounds will receive their share from Quartz, calculated equally based on their investment. 8.1 Pre-Sale The Pre-Sale round will start on February 15, 2017, and will last till the March 24, 2017. Main purpose of the Pre-Sale round is to gather funds in order to support and sustain the project for a specific period of time, covering expenses and launching the Crowdsale. 8.2 Crowdsale Crowdsale will occur in the second quarter of 2017 (Q2). The purpose is to give to a larger audience an easiest and simplest way to participate in the Polymeric Network, providing all the needed informations and help the participants to easily understand the concept and evaluate why such a network is important in this new digital era. 8.3 Distribution Distribution will be calculated based on the results of both the Pre-Sale and Crowdsale funding rounds and according to the needs of the Polymeric Network team.
