LEISURE TIME FROM PERSPECTIVE OF SPORT MANAGEMENT by Radenko Matic, PhD, Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, Serbia
In this presentation will be included information about research capacities and innovation potentials of University of Novi Sad and Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, their current projects, and consideration about possibility for mutual cooperation on future scientific projects with partners from University of Deusto, Bilbao. Second part of this presentation will include a short theoretic and research review about physical activity as a part of leisure time with accent on its promotion.
Radenko Matic I was born on October 3rd 1979 in Loznica. After completing Secondary School of Economics in Loznica in 1998 I enrolled in the Faculty of Physical Education in Novi Sad and completed the studies in 2003. In 2005 I began working at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, as an assistant and secretary on the research project “Anthropological status and physical activity of the population of Vojvodina”, which was approved by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development. I have completed master studies in 2009 with an average score of 9.80 and defended master's thesis entitled “Relations between motor abilities, morphological and socio-economic characteristics of younger school-age children.” I gained the title of teaching assistant in 2010, for the scientific field “Basic disciplines in sport and physical education”, the teaching course “Sports Management”. As an associate and secretary I participated in four provincial and one national scientific research project. I also won I place at the IV International Symposium “New Technologies in Sport”, in the category “Organization and Management in Sports”, organized by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Sarajevo and Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 2011. Since 2011, I am a member of the Council of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. In the period from 1st to 31st March 2015 I spent one month at the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor in Slovenia, under the program for academic training of university staff JoinEU-SEE. Also, I was granted the scholarship for a one-month study visit under the program for academic training Basileus V at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain and 5 days mobility for staff at Faculty of Sport Sciences, Department of Sport and Leisure Studies at University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 2016, I became a Manager of Center for Sport with outdoor and indoor facilities, organizational part of Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. At the beginning of this year, I became editorial assistant of scientific journal “Exercise and Quality of Life”, which publish by Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad.
