I was inspired by the sincerity and hard work my friends put in their courses. I often came across friends who would keep at a problem for hours at a stretch till they were able to solve it. I experienced the true definition of perseverance working with my colleagues. The professors and the teaching methodology was world class. Kumar Sambhava, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India

Summing up this semester I can say that I learned a lot about the Korean and Asian culture which the majority of people in Europe just know from books. I met lots of people from different countries, made friends from all around the world and even though I spent lots of time for studying, I visited the beautiful landscapes around Korea. I am really thankful that I can take so many good memories about this year home with me. Paul Schreiner, Graz University of Technology, Austria

Discover Pohang Pohang is a major industrial city on the south eastern coast of the Korean peninsula and is home to POSCO, one of the largest steel companies in the world. Due to its coastal location and industrial infrastructure, Pohang offers an intimate blend of urban life and nature not found anywhere else in Korea. Along Pohang’s 200 km stretch of coast, there are seven major beaches (Yeongildae, Guryongpo, Hwajin, Wolpo, Chilpo, Dogu, and Songdo) each with its own distinct charm. The Pohang Canal, a city and environment renewal project completed in 2013, is a 1.3 km canal and modern public recreation space which flows through the city center and connects the Hyeongsan River to the Youngil Bay. Adjacent to the Canal is the bustling Jukdo Market - the largest traditional marketplace on the east coast of Korea and one of the most popular destinations in the country for fresh seafood. Regional culinary delights include the famous Pohang Mulhoe (Pohang-style Spicy Sashimi) and the Guryongpo Gwamegi (Semi-dried Saury). We welcome you to discover all this and more in Pohang!
