Position Posting: Manager, Resources Located 40 km west of Calgary in the beautiful foothills of Kananaskis Country, Easter Seals Camp Horizon is southern Alberta’s leading residential camp facility for people with disabilities and serious illnesses. Each year over 1,600 children and adults with special needs enjoy our outdoor recreational programming. The Resource Manager will successfully manage the day-to-day operations of camps summer program with the primary focus of creative a safe, inclusive and experiential environment for our summer camps and year- round programs. They will be primarily responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing a summer staff of approximately 50 people and over 200 volunteers a year. The Resource Manager will assist in program development, planning and maintaining positive communication with camps stakeholders. A minimum of 5 years of related experience is desired. Further qualifications include: Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Strong verbal and written communications; comfortable with public speaking. Strong administrative skills (proficiency with word, publisher, excel, CampBrain) Passion for the outdoors and working with people. Proven supervisory skills, strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Program planning and operations experience. Standard first aid, Class Four Driver’s License, not required but preferred. Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities and medical conditions. The candidate must live on-site. Private home is provided. This is a full-time, permanent position.
