***PRESS ADVISORY*** COMPTROLLER LEMBO JOINS NATIONAL POLICY LEADERS AT GEORGETOWN POLICY INNOVATION FORUM TO ADDRESS WORKERS’ RETIREMENT SECURITY Comptroller Kevin Lembo is serving on a panel convened by Georgetown University’s Center for Retirement Initiatives today where national policymakers, scholars and industry experts are developing ways to ensure that millions of working Americans have financial security in retirement. There are approximately 600,000 private-sector workers in Connecticut who have no access to a voluntary retirement savings program in the workplace. Lembo serves on the Connecticut Retirement Security Authority (CRSA), which is developing a plan to fill the void for these workers. “It is unacceptable for anyone who has spent a lifetime working to face financial insecurity in retirement,” Lembo said. “There are too many people, including more than a half-million private-sector workers in Connecticut alone, with no workplace savings option for retirement. This is not only a problem for those individuals and their families, but for all of us, because it will affect our entire state and national economy.” WHAT:
