F a cu l t y a n d A c cre d i t a t i o n The EHS staff is a team of dedicated and professional educators who truly care about the success of each and every student. With an average of 10 years teaching experience and over 75% with graduate degrees, a teaching staff of nearly 60 brings a wealth of expertise and real world experience to the classroom. This, coupled with a student ratio of approximately 1:30, contributes greatly to the outstanding results that EHS generates daily. Three assistant principals, four school counselors and one school psychologist provide students with support services. Evergreen High School is fully accredited by the Colorado Department of Education.

S ch o o l O ve rv i e w EHS is a phenomenal community high school nestled in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. Our graduates are enrolled in all of Colorado's state universities and colleges, as well as the most prestigious universities throughout the country. While academics come first at EHS, we are committed to creating a fluid educational environment that allows families to balance their lives with respect to athletics, activities, and community service. Winner of the National Blue Ribbon School Award 2007 and 2015, 15 time John J. Irwin Award winner, and one of Newsweek's top 500 high schools, EHS is a school of excellence for students, parents, staff, and an involved community.

E ve r g re e n H i g h S ch o o l Fa ct s — 2 0 1 5 -2 0 1 6  EHS is one of 18 high schools in the Jefferson County Public School District R-1, the second largest K-12 school system in Colorado serving nearly 85,000 students.  EHS is a comprehensive public high school located in the foothills west of Denver, serving grades 9 through 12  Total Enrollment: 1100 students  Class of 2017 enrollment: 255 students  Over 77% of students participate in athletics and/or activities and 77% volunteer and/or perform community service.  EHS offers over 35 clubs which include interest clubs, co-curricular clubs and honor society.  Modified block schedule – 3 days of 50 minute class periods (7 classes) and 2 days of 90 minute class periods (3-4 classes).  Wednesday Advisement allows for all students to meet with teachers on an individual basis

 All courses which receive a letter grade are calculated into the grade point average.  All AP, Honors and College level courses are weighted.  Rank in Class: A student’s relative standing in his or her class. Class rank is determined by comparing the cumulative weighted grade point averages of all students in the class and ranking them in order from highest to lowest.

There were 62 AP Scholars,36 AP Scholars with Honors Awards, 38 AP Scholars with Distinction Awards, 7 AP National Scholar Awards for a total of 143 scholars. Their mean score was 3.52. 14 AP Courses Offered: English Language, English Literature, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Environmental (starting 2015) AP Human Geography, AP American History, AP World History, AP U.S. Government & Politics, AP Comparative Government/Politics, AP Spanish, AP Music Theory, AP Studio Art 2-D Design, AP Studio Art 3-D Design 11 Honors Courses Offered: English 9, English 10, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Earth Science (changed to AP Environmental 2015), Biology, Physics and Chemistry College Level Concurrent Enrollment Courses: College Adobe Photoshop, College Digital Photoshop, College Calculus, College Chemistry. For each of these courses, students can elect to earn college credit, as well as high school credit. Courses are taken at EHS.

The class of 2017 averaged a 26.0 on the 2016 State ACT. 94.6% met or exceeded the college readiness benchmark for English Composition. 78.7% met or exceeded the college readiness benchmark for Math. Between 2007 and 2016 EHS students raised their average ACT Composite from 21.8 to 26.0

National Merit Scholarship Program Over the past six years, EHS has had 3 commended scholars, 8 semi-finalists, 8 finalists and 7 winners for the National Merit Scholarship.

 Evergreen High School has been a winner of the John Irwin School of Excellence Award for the past 15 school years. The Colorado Department of Education awards the John Irwin School of Excellence to the top 8% of state schools.  EHS received the highest academic performance rating of “Excellent” on the School Accountability Report prepared by the Colorado Department of Education for all 15 years. EHS was one of approximately 25 high schools in the state to receive this rating.  Evergreen High School has been given the National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2007 & 2015. One of the most prestigious education awards in the country, this distinguishes schools that maintain superior academics or a school that demonstrates dramatic gains in student achievement.  In 2016, US News & World Report awarded a national gold ranking to EHS and 13th in the state of Colorado.  In 2013, 5280 Magazine ranked EHS as one of the top 20 public high schools in Colorado.  In 2010,Outdoor Life Magazine ranked Evergreen as the second best town in the country to raise and educate children.
