Project “Foreign languages with students from other countries per Internet” Juvelingo Hello! My name is Joanna, I am 22 years old and I am a student of Computing Science. I am developing a language project which will help students of the same age from all over the world in chatting with each other. In this way they will be able to know their culture and practice foreign languages.
Where is this idea from? - about the author I am Polish, I speak English, German and Portuguese - I learned all this languages chatting with people on the Internet. I started when I was 12. Learning in this way was a pleasure. Unfortunately not every child has the possibility to speak to children from other countries. I create this possibility.
How does it work? I created a program that works on the Internet. The idea is simple. Schools from all over the world participate in the program. The school signs up on Juvelingo. Then it will be verified. After that the school can create an account for each students. Students from different countries can chat with each other using foreign languages. Read more about the project on http://juvelingo.com
What should the teacher do if he/she likes the idea? ● ● ●
please tell the students that they can meet new friends and talk with them in foreign languages please collect a list of email addresses of students that want to participate (the skill level is not that important like enthusiasm - there is also no limit of students) please sign up on http://juvelingo.com and follow the instructions
What next? The students will get an email with instructions what to do next and will be able to use the program without any help from the teacher. Of course, the teacher can help students in understanding parts of the conversation or writing some sentences if students need it. If you have any question, please contact me
