Dear Parents and Students: The Marina PTSA extends a warm welcome to all returning students and a special welcome to all the newcomers, for the 2017-2018 school year. What is PTSA? PTSA is the Association of Parents, Teachers and Students that is affiliated with both a state and national network of similar organizations committed to serving our nation’s youth in the educational system. Our objectives are to: Foster open and effective communication among the parents, teachers, and students at Marina High School Provide support for the various school-sponsored programs Secure adequate laws for our students’ well-being Some projects supported by Marina PTSA during 2016-2017 Free Planners for Freshman Practice Testing for College Entrance Exams Reflections Art Contest Low cost SAT Prep Courses HOBY Leadership conference for students Scholarship Opportunities for seniors Classroom Enrichment Arts and Education support… And more! Last year the PTSA funded over $10,000 in projects at Marina! We would like to extend an invitation to each of you, parents, teachers and students alike to join the PTSA and become a voice in our organization for those issues and programs that are important to YOU. Why join the PTSA? With your membership, we will be able to continue supporting the aforementioned activities as well as others that are found to be worthwhile and deserving of support All contributions are tax deductible! Seniors who have been members for all years at Marina are eligible to apply for a PTSA scholarship. Membership entitles you to some retail discounts To gain a better understanding of and current insight into “What’s Happening” on our Marina campus Your feedback is important.
