May 2016 Dear Hanover area business: Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event. It offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Over a period of 24 hours, teams of family, friends, coworkers, church members, and neighbors camp out and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Relay For Life is an overnight event, illustrating the phases of a cancer patient’s fight – through darkness and back to daylight. We raise funds to help the American Cancer Society provide education, services, advocacy and cancer research. Over the course of the Relay For Life event, cancer survivors are recognized and honored, reminding all participants of the reason we Relay. We also take time to remember those we’ve lost through a candle-lit ceremony at dusk. Throughout the day, there are games, music, food, educational activities, ceremonies, and plenty of celebration. Our local Relay For Life event is held every year at South Western High School. This year, our event will be held from noon on Friday, July 8, through noon on Saturday, July 9, 2016. All year round our teams work tirelessly to promote Relay For Life and to raise funds to aid in their fight against cancer. They run countless sales and events, and the Hanover community has been very supportive of these efforts. It is my sincere wish that your business can be a large part of that wonderful group of supporters. In preparation for this year’s Relay For Life event, we will be running our annual promotional campaign called “Paint The Town Purple” (PTTP). The purpose of PTTP is to create some excitement in the community and show support of our local friends and family that have had to face the challenges that having cancer creates. It will show a community UNITED in the cause, showing how we can all take a stand together in the fight. I urge you to consider my request to be part of this great community effort by your business’s support of PTTP by signing up today to participate. Should you have any questions regarding PTTP, please do not hesitate to contact me. You may reach me by email ([email protected]), phone (717-965-4352), or mail (3070 Centennial Rd., Hanover PA 17331). I look forward to working with you on this awesome community initiative! Sincerely,

Anna Staub Anna Staub Chair, Paint The Town Purple Relay For Life of Hanover Team Ambassador Relay For Life of Hanover Event Co-Chair Relay For Life Team Co-Captain, Stubby Staubs
